OLD but GOLD;-) Have had the Game pre-STEAM from retail (now here on STEAM), super Thing easily accessible & entertaining for in between. The great thing is that it still looks pretty great today. The Control is somewhat ordinary but quickly learned. From me a clear Recommendation & double in THE SALE!!!

Nice Game for in between. Take Solid Bases and then have your own Units produced automatically, then advance further. Leave your own Bases defended in mini tower defense style. Different Bases produce different Unit types. A little Strategy brings Advantages, but usually it also makes the (very limited) mass of Units. Warning: Do not expect a "REAL" RTS such as Supreme Commander, Command & Conquer or Starcraft. Conclusion: Fast, nice Degree of Difficulty, very gelunge Optics-> makes Fun!

Waterworld in Game Form with all its Depths (pun intended). At the beginning I was still positively surprised by the Game. Intro and Syncro solid, the Graphics were fluid and vivid, the first two Levels played out quite ok. But then, then came the Turn ... The economic System and Control Elements are simple Marginal Phenomena. There is no direct Unit Control, but only troops are ordered at Collection points. You Often feel like AI is cheating on you. The Characters transparent and without Love. It just seems hollow. We start the Game as Kevin ... Kevin! Fresh from the Academy of post-apocalyptic hobby sailors, we immediately take Control of part of the Army of our so unsympathetic Commander that we know full well: The Pottsau later becomes our Enemy. On the Way we meet a "kesse" pilot and a peaceful merchant, who of course are all very quickly ready to sacrifice their Lives for us. Klaro! And, as in Waterworld, of course, it's always about the Oil. In general, the Level Of Difficulty increases very quickly, so that many seem to give up in frustration in the middle of the Game. The Archievement "Apply Napaln 5 times" (comparable to firing the Ion Cannon At Command & Conquer) have less than 1% of all Players ... Why? Presumably because hardly anyone comes over half the Game. Unfunny and Hain-induced Dialogues give you the Feeling you attend the Dress Rehearsal OF Theater AG of the 10 Class. No Man speaks the way the Script pretends, it's unintentionally weird. Oil Rush requires the Player above all else: Staying power and Micromanagement. Tactics rarely matter, but timing is important. Speed And Precision count. If you have some Luck and you can prevail against a repeatedly overpowering Opponent, then you will be rewarded with more boring still image animations that spit in front of your Feet the next Chunks of the Story. For the Money, Warcraft 3 gives you a lot more Background, Story, Character and Gameplay.
