OmOS Shader Test
About
A (very) bare tutorial is included, reading you the basic controls.
Some features I'm proud of:
- Option for toggle fire - good for achey joints, sore hands, and other difficulties
- Turn off or reduce a lot of brighter/flashier features if you're sensitive to stimulus
- You can remove the scrolling background to help with motion sickness
- Turn on a contrast outline for the crosshair
- Gamma and colorblind filters (not just cycling, but boosting and attenuating visible channels proportionate to the non-visible one)
- Toggle or alter visual features in general - see what exactly "hit flashing" and "lights" are doing when you turn them off
- A pixel-based point light and ambient light shader
- A variety of weapons with different functionalities
- Auto-leveling and pitching sounds based on how many sounds are currently playing
- An extensive credits section, with links to pages for all artists whose assets I used in this project. And then some.
- A pause menu, with scrollbars and checkboxes and everything!
- Hidden feature: If you're holding F when you destroy an enemy, the game will pause to get a freeze-frame picture. You can press F at any time while paused to toggle the pause menu.
...I didn't say these were particularly amazing or new features. I'm just happy about what I accomplished from "scratch" within 4 weeks.

i was hoping to put a little more work into this thing, but after a close call with my computer i think i need to release it as is.
this is about as loudly as I can get myself to call for help. i was already struggling and barely pulling myself together before the troubles of the world came to a more visible head. now, with my conditions and the background stress of the times, i've not been able to direct my dwindling attention and energy to any kind of work, even with the most generous and understanding commissioners.
if you want to see what i could do with more time, more peace of mind, and a little more stability, please consider supporting me on patreon, buying this game for more than $0 (even less than $1 would help a lot), or sharing with a friend.
i know this isn't much, but this "game" is what i have to offer for now. i don't need a lot, and i hate to be a bother, but i do need something. my spouse and I are both disabled in different ways, not on disability, and struggling to keep a home and stable enough prospects for me to be able to do the only thing i really can do these days: game dev.
thank you for reading this.
wash your hands.
follow or subscribe to a black person on your social media of choice. (i am disabled and nonbinary, but not black.)
please enjoy this game to its fullest extent.
let's have a brighter future together.
