About

One-Octopus Band

Smack 'em! Shake 'em! Please the crowd!

You may have heard about one-man bands, but they have got nothing on this one-octopus band.

Join up with up to four friends for a total party of five, controlling one tentacle of the octopus each, as you try to please the worst crowd in the history of crowds, maybe ever.

Made during Fall Game Jam 2019, organized by LiU Game Jam, based on the theme Musical Tentacles.

Playing instructions

The audience will request different instruments they want to hear played. Fail to meet a request in time and the audience will be disappointed. They may even ask you to play the 2004 hit song "Shoreline" by the Swedish alternative rock band Broder Daniel instead.

Fail too many requests and the audience will hate you: game over.

There are two different kinds of instruments that are played in different ways:

Smackable instruments
  • Opera singer
  • Drums
  • Guitar
  • Triangle

Need to be smacked by your tentacle.

Shakable instruments
  • Maracas
  • Cowbell

Need to be picked up by one of your tentacle's suction cups and shaken.
