Taking control of a single quark, you must negotiate the fundamental forces of the universe. Other particles will push and pull at you - you'll always be on the brink of losing control and being dragged towards annihilation!

Woven through the game is the story of Alison, a young physicist struggling to outrun her troubled past. Her journey through the subatomic world is drenched in memories (both good and bad), and will ultimately lead her to some powerful revelations.Features
  • Based on actual particle physics: Enter the world of sub-atomic particles and take part in the interactions between them.
  • A puzzling narrative: Particulars is a game which blends arcade and puzzle gameplay with an engaging story about a troubled young scientist.
  • Over 100 intriguing levels: Explore the four fundamental forces of the universe over ten chapters of increasingly complex play.
  • Dig deeper: The Particlepedia provides information on each particle in the game, the differences between the game world and the real world, and links to other information sources.

Particulars reviews and comments

There are two games in particulars. None is fun. First there is this original puzzle game and not unpleasant but not interesting either that plays with the same enthusiasm as when playing discreetly with the crumb of his bread at the lunch break when no one around is attentive. Different paintings follow each other and each one of them asks us to achieve a new goal (surviving, combining atoms, etc.) taking into account the specificities of the many particles that populate each game screen. Far from being silly or bad, this exercise does not have the genius of the great puzzle games or even the quality of a good one. It would not work in the midst of these Flash games that we play above all because at the moment it seems to us to be a better idea than working, going to sport or feeding. And there is this new Visual, made of cutscenes in artworks but especially of a new and strong narrative. The paintings of particulars are fast chained (one to five minutes or less from one level to another) and between each one, a quotation and a date, all balanced in disorder like so many slices of life, memories that go back to the surface with logic but chaos. One discovers the story of Allison, a young unstable scientist, through a novel and frankly well thought out form of narrative. We do not play for playing but to quickly unlock the following quotation, collect the new crumb of an almost banal but touching biography and thus reconstruct the puzzle. Cross the gameplay to devour the little story, its lengths despite its short format, its weaknesses, its moments of grace and poetry. Without any real flaw other than that of not being amusing, particulars fills his shortcomings with what he dares in terms of narration. This is not in itself a particularly interesting game to play. It is very interesting to have played it.

Particulars makes learning subatomic fun physics, combining with an intriguing storyline in a truly enjoyable mini-game/puzzle set. A good surprise to discover. [LUDICALLY YOUR] Particle physics... or subatomic physics is the branch of physics that studies the elemental constituents of matter and radiation, as well as their interactions. Wikipedia. Said like this, it's not really "fun", yet SeeThrough Studios managed to make it fun with particulars. I say well playful because there is nothing fun. With this game, we are in the subatomic world at the command of a particle and we have to solve a puzzle by applying the concepts of physics, subjected to forces and interacting with other particles. And this is where the game is successful, because the level of difficulty increases as and when applying simple rules, we do not even realize that we learn the physics of particles. Don't think you can play it without reading a minimum of instructions. Through more than 100 puzzles, with discreet music and simple but informative explanations, this game comes to captivate us on a rather austere theme and on a subatomic world where we finally know little, which gives way to a real scientific imagination (because one assumes the existence of certain particles, but they have never seen them!). [AN ORIGINAL STORY] History has told us through succession of images and messages before each level. Pieces of a life of researchers in this field of particles with its anecdotes, its humour and its twists and turns. [IS IT A GAME FOR ME?] Let's say it, particulars is a niche game that will not appeal to everyone. However, no need to have BAC + 8 or a physics diploma to play. Unfortunately all in English, it deserves a translation in French, to attract more francophone. One last tip: the joystick's stick is really smoother and more enjoyable. If you're curious, you like puzzles, then particulars is really a game to discover! The quarks, bosons, Baryons, etc... will have no secrets for you! "You enjoyed this evaluation? A little like it's always fun. »
