Paws of the West is a brand new NES game that will actually play on the NES console! 

Current wild west games for the NES are very linear and arcade-like. We decided to do things differently and provide you an open world action-adventure experience set in the wild west!

You will find many places to explore, lovable characters to interact with, loads of enemies to shoot, an appropriately themed soundtrack, and a detailed story, all packed in a beautiful black & white setting!

You play as Rowland, the new deputy. His dream is to one day protect townsfolk in need of help. Armed with his trusty 6-shooter and his tenaciousness , his dream is about to come true...

I can't wait for you all to join Rowland on his new timeless adventure!

How do I play???

• The best way to play this game is on the actual NES!!! If you have an "everdrive" cartridge with the latest firmware, you can just load the game (PawsOfTheWest.nes) onto the SD card and play!

• If you are on a PC, then you can use an emulator like Mesen! https://www.mesen.ca/

• If you are on raspberry pi, retro pi, or other emulation station, then follow your platform's instructions on how to add ROMs. You might need additional files to support mapper-30 ROMs.
