Early Access Review — they Say they rob cities and leave no one alive.
No one At all? Then Where do the rumors come from?
(c) Pirates of the Caribbean Sea Pirates of the Polygon Sea-arcade pirate simulator? No, it's something bigger, bigger, more interesting. In This game are intertwined pirates, treasure seekers, mythical creatures and islands full of secrets.
Developers from Praxia Entertainment released a rather interesting project: "One Day in the life of a Pirate" (fake name, just a joke). At First you have to choose 4 ships-some of them faster and more maneuverable, the other-slow, but more resistant to attacks, some of them purely cargo, ie the power of shots almost at zero, but the ability to transport a large amount of cargo all Compensates. You Know, Pirates of the Polygon Sea in some way reminded me of Space Rangers 2. Yes, I understand that there is a space simulator, and here is a pirate simulator, but still let me explain my point of view. Like SR 2-we have the ability to free trade between ports, improve our ship and acquire a new, contracted job – whether it is to destroy a pirate or transportation a precious cargo to another port. Unfortunately the world here at times less (it practically the only big minus of the project).
A Little about the opponents that you can meet in the game. Pirates-they are almost everywhere and terrorize peaceful merchant ships. There's only one way out--destroying them all. For this purpose in your equipment there are cannons and incendiary shells. But do not hurry to rejoice, even after you destroy a fairly great number of pirates. The whole island of pirates awaits You with a huge defensive ability. Sharks-come across in the game quite often. The Size they almost with all your ship, and their speed just does not leave you a chance to escape. There are two exits in these situations. The First-The battle, the second-maneuvering. Mythical Creatures-In addition to sharks, there are still healthy mythical creatures, at the sight of which you can not fight, it is even difficult to breathe. My only advice in such situations is to swim away from them! And the last but no less terrible enemy is the storm. Never in my life thought that the storm would be so terrible. One exact hit of lightning and you feed for fish.
In the title of the game is the word about pirates. But in the review I mentioned only the fight against them. The time has come to tell you the other side of the game. At any time you will be able to convert your ship into a pirate. And the back road will not be until the time you conquer power over all the islands, or just die in battle. Against You now grouped all the hunters for pirates and simple merchants who are not indifferent to the fate of innocent people.
The game also Has the ability to equip your personal port. Engage in trade between your and other ports, and for the money you buy upgrades for your harbor and in the future will be able to build the best ship on the Seven Seas.
The Graphical component of the game is made in pixel traditions, which gives the game even more appeal. Explosions, Storm battles, battle with giant creatures-executed at a very good level. The Main music theme makes you feel in the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean." Explosions from the guns sound simply amazing and if you are a fan of similar games-buy without hesitation.
At the end of the review would like to list the pros and cons of the project.
Pros: + The Idea of pirate battles very successfully implemented + a Large number of enemies (pirates, sharks, mythical monsters, storms) + Detailed traced pixel graphics + Excellent music + The Presence of a strategic component ( Ability to build your own personal port) + Ability to play for both civil and pirate Cons:-Limited World (Small map)-No multiplayer (developers have started to eliminate this minus) Pirates of the Polygon Sea-Awesome Arcade A strategy about the life of a pirate. I got a lot of fun playing this project. My estimate is 9 out of 10.
* For This review I am thankful to the developer who provided the key to this game. However, this did not affect my personal view of the project.
