Pizza Chef: Journey for the Best

Rafael “Raffa” Digiorno has only one dream. That is to become the best pizza maker in the world, but to do so he must prove his skills in the upcoming pizza competition. Some may believe all it takes is the essentials: dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. For Raffa, this was never the case as he always lived by the words of his father, Totino Digiorno. “Best is the best and nothing less” and Raffa knew that the only way he was going to win this competition was by gathering and cooking with the best ingredients.

Players will join Raffa on his adventure to find these ingredients, while encountering various enemies and obstacles along his journey. However, with his trusty pizza peel passed down generation to generation, he knew nothing along his path would stop him from achieving his dream. Raffa and the player must decide if they are okay with only doing the bare minimum or do they want to become the best.

Some of the content featured within this game will include:

• Health and inventory indications are easily seen on screen, without taking away the player’s focus from gameplay. This allows the player to have access to necessary game details, while maneuvering through each level.
• A good balance of “gathering” skills with an inventory-based game system, while having certain mechanics for the platformer aspect of the game. This allows for people of many gaming styles to enjoy our content.
• The player is greeted with a chef mentor in the form of the main character’s father serving to provide knowledge of the game objectives and how to complete them. This better helps the player navigate and know their goals.
• New areas offer unique mechanics to fully immerse the player in the atmosphere. Examples are allowing the player to sneak through tall grass plains to avoid enemy detection or being able to fight with enemies to retrieve ingredients.
• We utilize a crafting/trading system that the player will use on certain levels to combine or trade ingredients to retrieve new components.
• Despite each level's scenery being radically different, there is an overarching world feel that allows the player to notice they are in a complete place. It helps them see how the world they are playing in has many different qualities, while sharing in a similar aesthetic.
• There are a lot of important ingredients to collect in the platformer style gameplay which allows for a profound sense of reward. Especially since all the parts come together for the final goal, a pizza.
• There is a meaningful narrative that helps progress the story around the player’s gameplay. However, details of the world and each character is hidden within each level based on player interaction.
