Planet Stronghold: Colonial Defense reviews

Good morning, Planet Stronghold: Colonial Defense is, for the general purpose, a decent and entertaining visual novel. For Those who like a curious and new sci-fi story mixed with some doses of romance and strategic action. Yes, note that we are not talking about a bestseller book, so do not expect a narrative masterpiece, a story that can actually become a little soft; And we're not talking about a next-gen game either, so don't expect ultra HD graphics. That Yes, the cartoonist/s have done a work more than acceptable, with a very nice and adult aesthetic. Sound effects is something that could improve. In card fights, extra sounds would be missing to replace the generic "plaff" sound, as if the soldiers and tanks were slapping each other when they were actually shooting themselves. But at least the special abilities have their weapons and explosion sounds, which is fine. It Would Have been nice to add sounds of card movements as well, like for example motorcycles and tanks accelerating, drones flying, or giant steps stepping on the sand. The Músia on The other hand, is quite better than I expected. It Was a pleasant surprise. It Is clearly sci-fi oriented, and may with a certain retro touch on some occasions, and perhaps a slight touch of Japanese electronics. It Is a music that eventually becomes repetitive but does not tire at any time and varies with each situation. It gives an irreplaceable touch to the theme and the momentum of the narrative. The story, as I said, is not bestseller. There Are times that is great and is well adapted to that alien environment, futuristic and serious. But There are times when you think that instead of adults, it seems that you are dealing with teenagers or young adults doing the typical college nonsense, as is for example the game of Truth or Challenge, or clap with the buttocks (really a WTF moment). But the rest of the plot also has very interesting conversations, like the ethics of robotic combat in the AI era, moral decisions you must take as commander of the colony, or diplomatic relations with alien cultures. This story can take you a day or two to complete, with great options for replayability due to the many options of romances and various decisions you take as commander. But There is one thing I must warn you: if you play with a female character, in my opinion none of the men is worth it in this game; One is the typical macho rich boy doing demonstrations of skill to impress the ladies, the other is a narcissistic and greedy criminal, the other is a rebel short-sighted gangster, and the other is a robot (without the anatomical part required). The rest are women, who are attractive, largely intelligent and with much appeal, so I played with a gay Diana with Graciela (one of my favorite characters by far). A shame that Alex is your brother... I would Also have liked Samuel for Diana, but he is homosexual. And maybe Govern... But it's also not available to Diana. One last warning for Spanish speakers. The game is not available (yet) in Spanish, so you should know or learn English or any of the other languages in which the game is available so that you can understand it in its entirety. For the moment... It is definitely a game that is worth playing and will leave you with some nice memories from another world.
