Early Access Review First impression review (will be updated): Pro: - The combat is really smooth. No lags, no performance issues. - The hitboxes are nearly perfect. If you don't screw up your swings you hit what you wanted to hit. - The graphics are insane (for VR). From time to time I just stopped and went "WOW". "WOAH". "WHAT?". - I had no performance issues regarding glitches or graphical bugs. - Very entertaining (for me). Yes, it may get a bit repetitive. But if you enjoy cutting off limbs and heads this is your game. - The weapons that I found so far are very well designed. Lots of details. (I got the swords, a spike gun and acid bugs so far - and from a bit of google search, there are way more) - Creative Weapons. Yes you have your daily sword thing, but throwing acid bugs? That was quite the surprise. - I like how the combat works. Getting rid of certain body armor first - afterwards you can cut of the arms (as an example). - Played now for a bit and there were already a few different enemies. Melee guys with different weapons, armored and non-armored. Some had spike guns, some had spears, a few were flying and so on. - Locomotion works decent. - This is very far for early access. It crashed once after almost 2 hours of gameplay. So it's not too bad. Yes, I saw a few reviews where people were like "unplayable". I'm happy I had a different experience. Con: - Locomotion works decent... it seems like sprinting is stamina based. You can swing giant swords no problemo 24/7 but running longer than 2 seconds and you feel like a grandma with asthma. It's impossible. I don't know if this is a bug or intentional. But there where a few moments where I walked *painfully* slow. Even though the ground was even. - The combat needs some tweaking. Although the hit zones are very accurate and you get good feedback regarding hitting things, it takes sometimes a ridiculous amount of time to get rid of the armor. But if you block a heavy attack (where the enemy weapons glow red) you enter slow-mo and can destroy armor parts *instantly*. This feels a bit weird. To fight the heavy armored guys (that I encountered so far) in the most efficient way you just... wait. Going full berserk mode and slashing like a maniac may feel satisfying, but it takes forever. Let them perform an attack, block it and finish them quickly. Don't know what I should think about that. - Clipping. Some enemies disappear in rocks or run through trees. A huge swinging trunk trap disappears in a huge rock as well? So I'm not talking about some small issues. They were a bit lazy regarding that. Not a huge deal, since it made me laugh :D - Try and error combat. You have a bit of text explaining a few things in the menu at the beginning. But you only see it if you turn around (so you can easily miss it). I missed it the first time, since I faced the main menu directly while putting on the HTC. Only the second time I discovered the text left/right/behind me. - The game is a bit too easy. I think I died twice? Once because I crashed into my desk while dodging poison darts and fell over. The other time because my kid came into the room and was kinda irritated by me swinging around like an idiot (he is 2...). Died while explaining what I was doing. Conclusion: Buy it. If you agree with my points. It sets the bar high for other games in the category combat and graphics. It has it's flaws. I hope they will take the feedback from us and polish it. I'm not going to evaluate the story of this game. I don't care about it - I'm honest about that. Would be unfair to review it. ME SMASH ME KILL ME ENJOY YEAH. That's who I am, sorry. *shameless advertising* If you want to see edited gameplay to check for yourself, please go over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tahl0tz5S-k
