Project Venia
About
Project Venia is a Visual Novel, that uses a cardgame to simulate combat.
It is programmed in Ren'Py and set in a fictional sci-fi-fantasy universe, that was inspired by so many things, that I love.
It is a passion project, a learning experience and a proof of concept and under no circumstances more than that.
Any monetization (even with advertisement), aside from buymeacoffee - donations, is a missuse of the project and not condoned by me.
The same goes for all other forms of personal advantage (clout, clicks, advertisement etc.).
The game is developed by one single person (that idiot is me) and also the first/second time, I wrote a script, programmed a game and designed a game system.
This game features:
- 12-30 hours of gameplay (depending on your reading speed).
- A cardgame to simulate combat with good customization, characterization of enemies and a lot of depth, albeit some randomness (as with all card games).
- Colorful and vibrant world-building.
- Fun-filled scenarios and a light-hearted overall tone.
- A mature story underneath all of it.
Do not play this game, if:
- You don't like unfinished stories (the first chapter has 12-30 hours of content and is a concluded chapter, but the full story itself is not even close to being completed (first chapter out of six is completed)).
- You get easily frustrated or you are in a rough time of your life (the latter chapters are somewhat hard-hitting, but you can technically play the first chapter without problems).
- You're under 13 (This game contains implied violence).
- You dislike cheesy, cliché or cringy writing.
- You don't like reading (it's a Visual NOVEL, duh?)

Do not donate any money, before you finished the first chapter (I deactivated donations on itch.io for that very same reason: I don't want people to donate, before they finished chapter 1).
