Queen's Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past reviews

After rather mediocre productions, the developers of brave giant finally proposed in 2016 hidden object games that come out a bit of the lot, first with Demon Hunter 3 and then, a few months later, this Queen's quest 2. A high-profile Alchemist scenario, we are claimed by the King to solve a dark affair in which a Hunter is suspected of murdering a wolf who was patrolling the forest at the same time as a young girl dressed in red. It is a real police investigation that starts and everything is not going to prove as simple as a fairy tale. In a bonus chapter, we take our investigations back to find a missing girl that we had already crossed in the main story. What I liked the story joyfully mixes the stories of little Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, Hansel & Gretel or Merlin the Evocalist in a fun and dynamic way, including by multiplying anachronisms. The scenario reserves multiple twists and turns that repeatedly raise the plot and interest until the moment we discover who hides behind it. Note that the same characters are not found at all in the first opus. The environments are full of lives and full of details, the graphics are very neat. The gameplay remains simple and accessible for all but there is a real effort of staging and good ideas. SOC are often complex and always varied, there are several mini-games around sequences to be found but in very different forms, there are potions to elaborate on the basis of recipes. What is less well the difficulty is very limited to maintain a very high accessibility for a large audience, even in expert mode and without resorting to the many possibilities of assistance. This lack of difficulty contributes to the fact that the game ends easily in 4H (including bonus chapter). The events are nevertheless chained to a high rhythm without ever being blocked by a puzzle too twisted or bored. In short it is really a good game of hidden objects, among what is done best in the genre. The developers took the trouble to propose a story, admittedly not original, but which occupies an important place and puzzles yet classic but that are very consistent with the scenario and that fit perfectly well to the universe. No more is asked for a HOG but it must be greeted when it is well done.

Very nice Graphics, varied, not too easy to solve tasks and sufficiently long Playing time. The Hangers or Bugs that previous Reviewers have called, I couldn't find. Game went great.

A great Game, exciting and entertaining at the same time. The Pictures are very beautiful and designed with a lot of Love. You meet well-known Fairy Tale characters and are sad and the Alchemist's Suitcase Bristles beautiful Transformation skills.

French translation a little rough sometimes but the game is worth the effort. The puzzles are not difficult but that this game is short, very short. I have to say that I love this kind of game and have quite a lot already..... Thanks to artifex Mundi

A fairytale-style game that represents an excellent mix of the best elements for this genre of games: Beautiful images, high-quality cinematic sequences, well-constructed and intriguing hidden object scenes, many mini-games (perhaps a little too simple ) and so much technique in the overall production. So, an almost perfect game... Almost, because to not excite is the story, perhaps because it is based on some fairy tales that we know well and therefore little original as a whole. From this point of view the bonus adventure is much better, though very short. In any case, congratulations to Artifex and other developers, because at this price the professionalism of the field is really remarkable. I recommend it without hesitation, with four full stars! To you the final choice.

Second title Artifex of 2017, Nth masterpiece of its kind. Take quite a few characters of fairy tales and Famous Tales, a beautiful alchemist able with potions to change shape, mixed with a game style HOG, entrust it to a Team capable and you will get the title in question. Very high quality in all (Artifex ci Vizia!), not too high difficulty (very personal judgement), extra abundant (Bonus episode, replaying the Hog and minigames, movies, backgrounds, sketches, listen to the music and also the biographies of the various characters, Trophies to unlock) make it a must. Scattered as usual in the various locations, two types of objects to collect: Miniatures and fragments of puzzles (called collable puzzles). The most as an evaluation and a request to the Authors: Nothing to plead on Fantasy, but change genre sometimes not?
