Product received for free Even if they like to be laughed at by core gamers, hidden object games can be really Fun and tell compelling Stories. Redrum-Dead Diary, though, is not like that.
If you have seen the Intro or game Trailer For Redrum-Dead Diary you are confused and distraught on the one hand, and on the other hand you have already seen the most interesting Part.
What Redrum-Dead Diary Wants to tell is a Criminal Story about a medium That is "treated" by a fraudulent Psychologist in an Institution and helps solve Murder cases. Sounds really promising at first Glance and You might think so with the said Intro and Screenshots. It looks tangled and sick and makes You want an abstract Adventure.
However, you have to look elsewhere for this Adventure. The Story is amateurishly told, no Character really stands out for Character and/or charm and Neither does the Gameplay. You get to read Allusions and Puns on a permanent course, for example, the fraudulent Doctor Dr. Fraud is baptized, i.e. Dr. Fraud And refers to Dr. Freud. Wow. Creative. Not.
In the "Dead Diary," You Read medical Reports, Newspaper articles and emails of various Murder Cases that are at least occasionally creative-Bone processed into Piano keys, that was nice-but really in no Single case were formulated interesting or skillfully.
The Gameplay is mostly Standard Food for the hidden object genre. Search Objects in various untidy Rooms ... Or search For image Snippets. That was it. The Difference is only whether you get to read the Name of the object you are looking for, see the Outlines or have to discover the same hidden Object about 20 Times in a Search Image. As I said, Standard Food. In doing so, the Game makes a significant Mistake. It's pointless. You don't have Time Pressure and there's no Penalty for wrong Clicks. You can actually solve the entire Game by clicking off the entire Image.
So The Story doesn't irritate, the Gameplay doesn't irritate, how is the Game from the Opposite? Strange. No matter in what resolution I tested it, the Image seemed somehow stretched and the Look looks quite dusted and just towards the End loses all Creativity and Consists only of Flames and nerves.
Where we are already at "Nerves," the constantly repeating attempts to make funny allusions extremely fast, the opaque Gameplay is just not Fun, or has no Appeal because there are too many good Alternatives and after a boring Hour You can already see the End Credits. I guess I don't have to mention literally yet how I stand by this Game. After all, I do not stand, I sit. And that was now wittier than anything in Redrum-Dead Diary.
Achja, I received this Game from the Developer for free and that noticeably did not affect my Judgment, but for the Sake of Completeness that should still be said.
