About

Regeria Hope is a whimsical courtroom visual novel in the style of an Attorney game with original characters and cases. You play as Regeria, a female lawyer who can use her powers of logic and reason to prove her clients innocent.

It’s not all that straightforward though. Sometimes, you may find compelling reasons for throwing a case, forsaking the very defendant you are sworn to protect. These decisions will affect the outcome of the case and will have a ripple effect on later episodes of the series.

The first trial has you defending a husband whose wife has been poisoned during the wedding reception. Currently you have the ability to prepare your witness, and interrupt other characters while they are speaking, but be careful, as you have a time limit to solve the case!

KEY FEATURES:

5 episodes - Choices made in early episodes affect future cases. Don't like a character? You can throw them under the bus. Just be sure you're ready to watch them hang.
New 'Witness Prep' Gameplay - Prep your witness to say whatever you want. Have them plead for mercy, or make them look like buffoons in front of the court to throw the case faster.
New 'Fact Overload' Gameplay - Connect the facts together to bombard witnesses and force them to confess! You only get one shot though, so make it count!
New 'Investigation' Gameplay - Short investigation sections which will affect the courtroom scenes. Play a board game and move Regeria to where she needs to be in time!
New 'Convince the Jury' Gameplay - Be mindful of all your actions in court! Needlessly interrupting or repeating the same action over and over will change what the jury thinks of you, and you will need to state your case to the jury at the end of each daily court session.

Regeria Hope Episode 1 reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Spain
Regeria Hope (Episode 1) is a highly inspired game in the Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS and 3DS "Ace Attorney" games series. Made with Ren´py (a platform to create Visual Novels or Adventure games) We live the first case of the rookie Regeria Hope defending a client incriminated to assassinate his own wife poisoning the cup of the toast. But... Is that what really happened? Through interrogations and analysis of the evidence the truth comes to light by using a bit of logic and look for contradictions in witness testimony, if your logic is bad or samples wrong or irrelevant evidence will lose credibility and moral. When the bar is over the case is lost. Being the first introductory case of the game is something simple and full of tutorials, the first episode is to introduce or make known the characters and mechanics of the game. The same is totally free (investigating in forums seems to be a project of Kickstarter and the following Episodes/Cases will not be free but it is necessary to confirm). At first glance it shows that the game is not very complicated graphically and is low-budget but the art is nothing mediocre until in some cases could consider very good, the music is simple but fulfills its objective and the interface is easy to use. Compared with his inspiration (Ace Attorney) Regeria Hope remains somewhat behind but shows high capacity or potential to grow to something more elavorado and more investment to approach what it is to be with his little personal touch (For Example Limited time in the interrogations). Pros: + Regeria Hope takes Ace Attorney and adds his personal touch by opening up a lot of chances to be successful. + Art mostly pleasing to the eye. + Promises that your decisions have an impact and will be noticeable in future episodes. How much will it be? Only in time we will know that if we know well many promise that but it is something difficult to execute (like Fable for example). + Has Some "replay value" depending on your decisions. + The first episode is free "demo" style. + If You are one of those looking for games with simple achievements This is a game for you. Cons:-By taking Ace Attorney as inspiration you can create many expectations for most of your fans by moving more than 1 with the quality of play of a low-budget indie game. -Decisions that alter the story is a double-edged sword and if you do not run well will only be another game that creates the illusion of choice, Can You continue the following episodes being a corrupt lawyer? Only in time will we know. -Music may lack some impact or presence (equally compared with Ace Attorney). -The Game being Episodico if you want to play it complete you will have to wait until they finish creating all 5 episodes throughout the year and more. -However you want to be Ace Attorney has a large percentage of probability of passing without attracting much attention to the great shadow that leaves its source inspiration. As mentioned earlier: the first episode is free, if you get the attention I would say it is worth giving it a chance, it is short and not very heavy. I wish the best of luck to Regeria Hope and see You in court.
