Reluctant

College is one of the hardest places to focus on mental health. The hardest part comes in learning that one has a mental illness. Reluctant is a 2D RPG that puts players in the perspective of three friends who have mental illness. Through this journey, you will learn about the impact of mental health and how to reach out for help while also being able to support your other friends as well. You will also learn how to fight against the symptoms of mental illness through a fantasy battle that also helps to teach players on healthy coping mechanisms.

This version is a short demo for what is to come. Take on the perspective of Andrew, a young man struggling to open up about his anxiety and depression while also worrying about his other friends. As Andrew, you must learn how to be there for others and be able to have healthy boundaries between friends to help make yourself better as well.
