About

Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 Indie Game Maker contest.

Magic is a curse. A plague upon the world and those that live in it. Those that are born with this curse unwittingly sap the mana from the earth they stand in. In order to prevent these abominations from draining away the world's lifeblood, they are locked away in a castle in an isolated dimension. It is in this castle that the cursed are to remain, removed from society so that their magic does not harm normal people. They are to be kept here for the rest of their miserable lives.
At least, that's the way it should have been...

Suddenly, a loud crash is heard. A young girl, kept apart from the rest of the castle, looks up from the ground. The magical barrier that prevented her escape slowly dissipates. Standing up, she pushes open the gate and finds her first taste of freedom. Guide her as she teams up with a renegade mage boy to search for the truth behind the castle, her unique magic, and a way to escape.Features

Remnants Of Isolation reviews and comments

Type: RPG maker story: pretty cryptic all that, you're a pale young girl trapped in a mysterious Castle. You have to run away, you meet a young Rasta with green hair that will help you there. In short, in the background as in the form, it is quite lame. Gameplay: not bad for RPG maker! You have a fusion system for the magies, the game being fairly relieved level difficulty, you will have to learn to use it (very simple, no panic). Little room for error, but pretty nice and well balanced, which is pretty hard to get with this software. Art direction: it's very special. The shades chosen are original, but I do not like. The character design is... original, but I do not like, there is an African side in the representation, it has the merit to change, but then again level palette of colors it stuck between the blends of green, yellow, black, purple, white corpse... I'm saturated. Anyway, without being ugly, it assaulted me a little my retina. Lifespan: 3 hours by checking everything. 4 If like me you forget to back up often and you are obliged to redo a good part of the game by relying on the nonexistent AutoSave. Given the story that holds on a subway ticket, it's already limited too. Verdict: Mouais BOF, OK if on sale at €2

The Story of the game is simple but somehow gets you attached with the characters, so it makes the three hours you spend with them are very enjoyable, and the end is very nice. The music accompanies very well (I loved the main melody). The scenarios do not have a fantastic finish and sometimes are somewhat overloaded, with take a look at the screenshots on the page of the store is understood what I mean, but it is what is with the RPG Maker. Let'S Go Now with the main attraction of the game. The Battle System is very original and fun: Each fight is different, because you have to plan well the strategy and not even at the beginning is to attack without further to topple the enemy. The Way you always start with the same mana and recovering within the battle makes you always have to watch how much you have to do what you plan, but at the same time does not make you book for later. The only downside I can think of is that some combos are very good and break a bit the game, but when you use them you feel more than you have solved the riddle of how to win the fight you just be pounding because your characters are broken, so not bad at all. In The end it ends up being an easy one, because if you plan your movements fairly well, you probably don't lose the whole game. In Short, it is an original system and very fun, which in my opinion is the best of the game. By the way, the sprites of the enemies are beautiful.
