Resurrection of Soul Drain is a action-adventure 2D platformer with a retro style inspired by the 90s games. Here you plays as a minotaur that have to defeat bosses and collect items to gain new powers and access into different areas with the purpose to...save the world?.

Note: The game is completed but the video is still the pre-launch and some aspects of the game are different in the final version, I have to test it a bit more and check for errors including text boxes but is playable from start to finish and it is the complete experience of the game.

OBJETIVES:

You have to close the portal at the beginning of the game, to do that you have to defeat bosses, kill enemies to increase your level and collect seven souls, each soul brings you a new power and with it you can access into new areas of the game.

INVENTORY:

This game contains a very simple inventory system where you can use some items and obtain information of each one.

( The empty spaces will fill when you collect an item for first time )

ITEMS:

Some items like the Souls are for permanent use but other are consumables. When you pick up a new consumable item it will appear to buy at the Sanctuary.  

At the beginning of the game you only have 2 items: HP Potion that restores all the HP points and the Shield Potion that bring instant use of the shield.

( Around the world you can pick up some coins to buy items at the market in the Sanctuary )

CONTROLLS:

Attacks: You have two attack buttons, Weak Attack and Strong Attack.

• The Weak Attack is fast and is useful whit enemies that can be killed by one hit.
• If you press the Weak Attack 3 times a bar will fill and you can press the Strong Attack to execute a slower but stronger attack.
• If this bar is not full the Strong Attack will be faster but weaker.

Run: You can run by pressing and hold the Weak Attack button or pressing the Dash button. Once you get the correspondent soul the Dash buttons allows you to run faster.

Jump: At first you can jump normal, but later in the game you get a soul to execute a double jump.

Block: When you press the Block button a health bar appears, this bar will reduce at each enemy hit, If the bar empties, you lose this ability until the bar fills up.

( Is not necessary to face the direction of the attack when you are blocking )

Shield: When you press the Shield button a spell appears around the minotaur, this allows you to run without taking any damage of the enemy attacks, is useful when you are surrounded or is some final bosses. The bad part of this is it protects you for a short time and you have to wait to use it again.

( The Shield is active and the enemy attack don't hurt the minotaur )

You can configure each key in the options at the main menu, also you can use a gamepad if you prefert.
