Rex Rocket reviews

I read it would be a hard difficult gameplay... but damn that´s really hard. I even love the old mega man games but it´s not possible to me to enjoy this beautiful game without difficult options.

I play with keyboard and they bind 'space' for interacting and it cannot be changed. Moreover, the character is hard to control : the length of the jump is too imprecise and wall jump is always on the opposite direction.

A mix between Super Metroid and Super Mario. It is not a rarity if you need around 100 Attempts at a Passage, but also there remains exciting and only a bit of Frustration makes itself felt. Also replayed is given. Price/Performance is top!

Reluctant at first, I left tempted by the balance of-40%. I am absolutely not sorry at all. The visuals are really beautiful, reminiscent of NES, and music too. The game offers a real challenge, especially the bosses where to die 10 times before starting to understand their patterns is quite normal. Frankly, the game is a real surprise and we are surprised to continue playing even after swearing to throw the screen through the window to the next death.

A very nervous platform shooter, Rex rocket pits a hero (or heroine!) of war against a crazy AI, which has allowed to release an army of blobs in the gigantic spaceship where you are. The game presents itself as a Metroidvania to the challenge extremely relieved and stuffed with charm. Many improvements are to be discovered and the secrets are numerous. Patience and cold blood will be needed to finish it... and even more to finish it at 100%! A real gem.

Case of conscience for this game. I've been saying a lot of times: "leave your luck to the product, go on, do another session, if you find it will end up pleasing you." The problem is that doing another session is agreeing to plunge into this very awkward mix of die-and-retry platform and metroidvania, two genres that are not often synergistic. Here in two hours, I underwent an unpleasant exploration, painful roundtrips in very hostile environments (die-and-retry oblige) sprinked with all soft fights against the wicked alie... cute blobs of the game. The exploration becomes tiring from the first moments, the fights catch up nothing (on the contrary) and the level design is at best passable often very mediocre. Even being a fan of pixel art and platform, it didn't happen. The game is not fundamentally bad but I got bored during the majority of my only two hours of play. The bosses are very nice but that's not enough, it would have taken a more homogeneous set, more fun gameplay and a more interesting level design.
