Roll 'n' Dice

Dice sushi ingredients and roll them up in this GMTK Game Jam 2022 submission.

You (a small, dog chef) are trying to make as many sushi rolls as you can in a busy kitchen under a strict time limit. The ingredients, however, aren't going to cooperate if they can help it. Before you roll them up, you have to dice them into neat piles by dragging the fresh ingredients across the kitchen.

Controls and Instructions

Move - Arrow Keys

Dice - Z

Roll Sushi - X

Grab / Release - C

Sushi rolls have to have at least seaweed and rice. Cucumber and sauce are optional but make for a more delicious treat. You get extra credit if you remember to dice the roll too. 

The attack and grab hit boxes are a little wonky, but you'll have an easier time walking toward your [victim] and pressing the button when you're very close.

Liam Gilligan made the sprites and animations by hand. Riley Gilligan helped Jules Gilligan with basically everything in Unity when he wasn't making sound effects with household objects. Yes, that's three Gilligans. We hope you enjoy our first game jam.
