RPG Maker 2003 reviews

For the little story, like others I discovered RPG maker with the 2000 and the version of Don Miguel, it was years ago at the time I was living with my parents, I had just had my own PC in my room and I recently found the joys of the net , a whole time. RM 2003 was a real improvement of its predecessor, more possibilities, maps that could be generated automatically, combat seen from side, MP3 readable for music and sound. A real jewelry, I spent hundreds of hours (see maybe thousands) on both software during this period (high school, so much free time ^_^) what was not my surprise to stumble upon an info that spoke about the availability of RM 2003 in our latitudes and in a completely legal way. So I buy it directly by nostalgia first but also for all those hours of joys that the software has procured me. It's simple with this one anyone can create an RPG in the way of those on Super Nintendo and this easily and without having special programming knowledge (just know how to read in fact;-)) even my last little sister of 11years arrives to use the software, that is to say how easy it is to access, but with a little elbow oil and by dipping your hands in the sludge the possibilities are infinite and have limits only your imagination. Moreover, the seniority of the software allows access to a plethora of resources that you can add to your games and tutorials that will accompany step by step explaining all the possibilities. In short a little software not to be missed for all those who would feel a creator soul. 10/10

Amateurs of the retro genre, be attentive! This is not a pick-up version that, being released shortly before RM MV, looks like a RM in cheapos mode. Oh, far from there! This software remains a fabulous tool to create its little stories or small minigames without having to break the head too much. It can also be used in its full capacities in order to get out of the limits of the standard game mode. However, you don't have to have a programmer logic to get out of it if you want to do complex stuff, like a platformer, or a pixel-close System. Personally, this game gave me a lot of knowledge in programming, I was able to learn about:-variable pointers. -Processes in parallel. -The notion of object. -The concept of an event. The "worst" point of RM2003, according to some, would be to not be able to execute scripts, and so it prevents us from doing whatever we want. So, yes that's right, you can't do everything about it. We are here to make more simple RPG than anything else, but above all, from a personal point of view, having a script all ready while hot in hand does not give me the satisfaction of having realized something all by myself as a great. Having limitations in event orders, on the contrary, is an excellent opportunity to learn how to get out of the limits of the tools we are given. We juggle these commands, we experiment in all the senses, we show curiosity, nothing but that is fun. The resulting programs are more optimized than any other newer RM (unless we do anything with the pictures) and 320x240 resolution makes me nolstagic games in the years 90. I just have nothing to reproach to this software, it satisfies me in any point.
