Runaway, A Road Adventure reviews

The Game is just Mediocrity for me, some of it is good, other things rather not. The most important Criterion for me when Evaluating a Point & Click is the Puzzles. Everything is from simple to difficult. Difficult Puzzles are not bad, but the Reasons for this are often somewhat dubious In nature:-Some Objects are very difficult to find; Pixelhunting is the order of The day; Any inconspicuous Thing could be important; In addition, many interactive Sites are close to each other; To make matters worse, the Cursor is often many times larger than the Object being searched; So you have to search the whole Screen and lentil it again and again to the Text at the bottom of The screen to see if and which independent Object is in Focus. -Very many Objects have to be visited and searched several times; Sometimes there is slight Evidence that it could become useful later, but sometimes such Hints do not occur. -Very much has to be done in exactly the given Order-At All, there are rarely any Hints as to how it might go (E.g. "yes so similar it could go" "there is almost never; sometimes, however, there are hints, but often I had to have half the Level Search before I found something again) Sometimes things go really nicely. I guessed what to do, for which I can use something to look for. To my Liking, though, it was a little too common that I was clueless about how or where to continue. The Prospect of then just having to try through or search everything frustrated me. Then came the Handle to the Walkthrough ... Moreover (although many Puzzles were logical within the Framework of the Genre), I sometimes found the Solution quite absurd:-That frozen Batteries provide electricity again is unknown to me-That you can cut Nuts better with a hot Scalpel is new to me-That Sun Rays falling through a Window, warming better than the plump Desert sun, is a Mystery to me-Where The Killer Gina's Name (in Hospital) know remains unclear to me-That Lipsticks Sprinkled with Black Powder yield ammunition I can't understand-etc. Overall, the Puzzles (Minigries were probably only one and that was relatively simple for me) average; The Vastness of the Possibilities often made it "artificially" difficult, in the way illogical Solutions make it difficult In the wrong Way. Now the Puzzles could rarely inspire me, but the told Geshichte could not really make up for it. It starts as a road adventure (according to a road movie) and Initially it seemed that way. A Man meets a mystery handsome woman and both end up in a Car fleeing the Mafia. Super! But then, in the middle of the Desert, where they are held captive, the Hero Brian meets three drag queens who are also stranded in the Desert. Not only that, even an alien researcher who, of course, is now kidnapped by Aliens, a millionaire Hacker and Owner of a Ghost town, a Fortune teller who lets him talk to The Dead, etc., come into play and any logic and credibility Flies out of the Game. The Car has been lost for a long time, Instead Brian is walking for miles. He usually deposits the pretty Gina somewhere and so she almost doesn't matter. No, the Story is not coherent, it is shrill. It seems like a C-Movie, like "Attack of the Killer Tomato." Which is such a shame because the Graphics are excellent, even today. They are not static Images, but the Characters move, Light and Shadow, 2.5D by motion Parallaxes, All elaborately made. You can't find a straight line in the Pictures, everything is bent. This has a lot of comichaftes about it and is already fine. The Operation of the Game is kept simple but fine. The (too large) Mouse Pointer changes when it is on an interactive Object, the Objects can be moved with Drag and Drop. This is probably in line with the Situation in 2003. There are very long Cutscenes in places and many long Dialogues, felt this accounted for 40% of The Game time. If I liked the Story, w # ren they probably seemed much better to me. Pro & Contra: + Good Graphics and Animation + Meist pleasant musical Accompaniment + Some (too few) good Puzzles-Too little indication of how to proceed-Pixelhunting-Some Illogical solutions-Increasingly absurd Story Rating: 05/10 Unfortunately, neither the History still excite the Puzzles. So I found the Game disappointing.

I used to play runaway on PC & loved it. But the app crashes every now and then. Often when it switches to a scene. Sometimes the screen just turns black but you can hear everything and still move around. Also wished there was a save function. Not worth paying for.

A pleasure to dive into this captivating game, despite the presence of English subtitling in the introduction. We can change the language later, thankfully! I could not continue chapter 6 by resuming my backup because the screen becomes all black. Grrrrr, do not want to start all over again. Never mind. It is recommended to update to correct 2 major problems. Thanks to the developer for making an effort.

Otherwise, it seems like a great adventure game, but the game crashes a lot. Fortunately, the game saves itself along the way - but only in a save file (which is constantly being overwritten). This is not a problem in itself, but the game can find saving the game's save file becomes corrupt. If / when this happens there is nothing to do. One's progress is lost and one has to start over again !! I have written for their support, but they do not respond.

I loved the Runaway trilogy on PC and redcovering it on tablet made me very happy. Despite many bugs that appear during the game, including the app that closes itself regularly (without loss of backup fortunately) and places where clicks are very difficult (impossible to click or diffract two clickable objects, impossible to select a line of dialogue ...), the game will remain for me one of the best of its category!

If I have to judge the game, which I did on pc it has 5 * direct. On the other hand the touch portage is just ashamed. The mere fact that the click gliss is not supported goes against any object search that is the essence of the game. And the worst is that the touch is accurate as a sausage launcher, we find yourself quickly using the automatic object search function. And I do not speak of the code enter the muse where it is necessary to press 1m next to the key and which selects all the same twice. Unable text lines sometimes select, or objects. Etc., etc. Pity. Cool me redo the trilogy on tablet.
