Shadow Warrior 3 reviews

I don’t like how they got rid of the “borderlands” style of elemental damage and constantly getting new guns. This one is more traditional where you just get your guns but I’m finding that a lot less fun.

The writing is still awful, just like the second one, but every now and again I’ll laugh at some dumb joke.

I’ve played like an hour maybe and 1.5. And I don’t know at this point I’d I’ll keep playing. It’s not that fun. I’m going to give it another shot but if it doesn’t click I’m moving on.

Meh I didn’t even go back. Not feeling it. Not worth my time. I can’t see this game getting any better.

Final Score: B-
The modern version of Lo Wang returns for a third time, and he's still not funny. The gunplay starts off reasonably well, but quickly degrades into a pale pastiche of Doom Eternal combined with a bunch of tiresome one-liners and a katana that stops being useful except to cut down mobs for ammo to fill your too-small reserves. The shotgun is limp, too, which is a crime for a game like this.

It's a fun enough way to pass a few hours on Game Pass, but it's too busy trying to be other games (including the original Shadow Warrior!) to really get any one thing right. It's a cheap, limited, and short game. (Just like its Wang.)
