25 years later still hold the tense and dark atmosphere. An absolute masterpiece, I have little to no interest in replayability, but this game almost made me do it.
Very cool. I definitely prefer the more serious attempt at psychological horror than the B movie action horror of Resident Evil. Is obviously quite derivative of RE, with gameplay being virtually indistinguishable. I think the difference in tone is enough to let it slide, but I can see the argument of SH being a ripoff. Of course, the similarities include the horrific controls, which prove to be the largest barrier to enjoyment of the game.
I first got acquainted with this game 21 years after the release. And although the game now looks and sounds more like an indie craft, the game does not feel outdated.
It has a fairly simple plot, but at the same time deep lore. The soundtrack is generally not annoying, and the title theme is delightful. The gameplay in the game is well-developed, the number of ammo and medicines allows you to play aggressively and at the same time makes you worry that they will not be enough for the next boss.
I give the game 8/10.
