About

Skyborn is an RPG driven by the story. The game resembles the old-school jRPG titles, and made with RPG-maker — a set of software tools designed to make traditional RPGs.
With an average playtime of 5 hours, Skyborn offers a world populated with Skyborn race. The Protagonist, Claret Spencer, becomes drawn into the adventure of saving his home city and reclaiming the right on it. The game includes many NPCs — one of the primary focuses was to write down all of the game dwellers' personalities as detailed as possible. The plot of the game is catchy, well-designed and does not look like a typical RPG-Maker game — such titles do not even reach the greenlight often.
The gameplay, however, is widely considered to be borrowed from classical jRPGs — the typical mission includes traveling throughout vast locations and bringing the items. Given the low density of playable content, these quests happen to be quite burdening in the sequence of the continuous plot uncovering.

Skyborn reviews and comments

In Play with good Story and good Background Music, but unfortunately without Entry-level Tutorial, so you have to check everything yourself right at the Beginning to understand everything. Furthermore, even in the first Fight, it is not explained how to proceed or what options to have. Furthermore, the Fights are generally simple. You can only attack, use a Skill, or use an Item. There are no different Normal Attacks, but only one with the Weapons equipped. Besides, the Game is not so graphically pixelated that it is beautiful but also graphically not so detailed and high-quality that it is beautiful in a different Way, but directly in between where it can simply be dismissed as bad Graphics. It is also a Pity that every time The Game is restarted, the sound settings are reset, so that you have to change the Sound to your own Requirements every time. Furthermore, it is annoying that the Game does not support a Steam overlay, which means that you always have to Switch To Steam to chat with other Users.

Warning this review contains Spoilers for the Final Battle Spoilers between the stars. Overall this Game was a really good one, I loved the different characters the Story was really solid and rarely predictable, the few side quests were really fun and they found a very good way of rewarding exploring. Also the battles were mostly a good balance I played this game on the hardest difficulty and could beat every enemy after some time. They were hard but rarely in a cheap way. The only critique I really have is the final boss. **************************************************************************************************************************** First I think the boss fight was unnecessary. You already fought an enemy that would have been a great final boss but then they threw in one of those out of nowhere bosses which could have been easily handled just a character. Second it was the only cheap boss battle in the whole game. It had a attack that instantly removes all your buffs and MP from all your characters, a charged attack that kills your whole party instantly, a healing ability which also gave him a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of buffs, an incredible amount of HP and was resistant against any for of stun. Basically the whole battle was just me waiting for him to get his Ultimate attack through and kill me. I ended up switching to easy so that I could come to the end even though I had all the equipment you can get in the game, and cleared almost every enemy in the game. **************************************************************************************************************************** Overall it is a great Game and if you like Rpg's you should definitly pick it up.
