Somn

Somn is about a girl named Sarah and her journey into her subconscious mind. Dying doesn’t wake her from this strange dream, and as a player you will solve puzzles and overcome challenges by using this very fact to your advantage. 

Somn challenges existing gaming conventions by making the player’s death an integral and useful part of the core experience, and the result is a fresh and engaging take on puzzle platforming, which is sure to peak the curiosity of any fan of the genre. 

Puzzles are solved by pushing, stacking and leveraging the stones Sarah leaves behind in her wake, and the result is a physics-based puzzle platformer with lots of charm, mystery and intrigue. Sarah’s story is one of escaping an abusive personal situation by delving into the deepest parts of her mind to find the answers she needs.

In 2022, the game was awarded the "Skövde Academic Game Award" winner of the year, with the motivation: "By combining a well-polished art style with intuitive, clever design and pervading humor, Somn is a skillfully crafted, fun and engaging game. Within only ten weeks, the winning team has developed a product of high quality in which we see great commercial potential"
