Farm spring crops to pay your rapidly increasing bill. Use your hoe on the ground next to the pond or water it with a bucket. Plant some seeds and wait until they grow up and then sell them. You can get seeds from the seed machine for free or buy them. Pay your bills by pressing Tab and clicking pay with your mouse. 

(I'm sorry because of the weird controls but it's mostly because of Pico-8 limitation)
