Spy Fox 3 "Operation Ozone" reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Deutsch
Oh, yes, Spy Fox. I don't know how many times I played the first Part as a Kid back then on CD-ROM. So I didn't marvel badly when I got a Key for Operation Ozone this Year for my Birthday. Of Course, he was immediately cashed in and tried. Even after the first few Seconds, when the good Old Humongous Entertainment logo appeared on the Screen, the good Old Spy Fox feeling came up again. One thing you have to leave for The Developers: They've stayed true to their terrific Style of Spy Fox Games. The colorful, oblique Backgrounds and characters and Attention to Detail are still as beautiful to look at as in Part 1. Spy Fox still has several Lines of Dialogue for the same Item and the Animations of rum-flying UFOs etc., if you're anywhere on the There are still clicks on the edge of the screen. I like that over the Years this love Of Detail has not been lost. Also, there are still different Paths to the Goal, as certain Things change with each Reboot. So playing Several Times is worth it. But now to the Game itself: The first Thing that will immediately stand out to the Old as I do is that the German Voice of Spy Fox has changed. It's unusual at first, but you get used to it in the Course of The Game. Thankfully, the Voices of well-known Characters have remained the same. I also really liked the fact that you can also find some Characters from previous Games again, even from Part 1. The Story itself, without Spoilers, is again delightfully crazy of all Spy Fox fashion. Goes very well to the Setting. What struck me, however, is that the Game is pretty simple. Of course, Spy Fox is a Game for Kids and has never really relied on serious Puzzles, but in Operation Ozone you don't even need Slips of Paper and Pen to remember any Order. That's what I thought was a bit of a shame, it felt more like stubborn clicking with the Mouse without really having to think about it. There were also surprisingly few of these "memory tasks," which I really lacked a little, since they also make up the special Charm of the Series. One should not forget, this is a Game from 2001, so it is also correspondingly short (and well:D). But well. It was Fun anyway. * EDIT: I have to correct myself here. In my second full Run, I now played through the second Way (I suspect they alternate with every reboot) and sat here for much longer at the Puzzles, WITH Notes and Pen and was partly really Thinking about it. I probably caught the easier way in the first Run. :D The Game also, as I have just found out, has two different Endings similar To that in Part 1. I am absolutely thrilled and have to say that this Run was much more Fun for me. Now a Word on the Technique: The Game is quite old and therefore runs in an Emulator. This works very well and even offers the Possibility to put the Game with the Space key On Hiatus, which was not possible in the Original Version. Unfortunately, however, there is a Problem with the German Version, as many here have already mentioned. If you Enter the Hair-cutter Room there, an Error Message from the Emulator appears after 1-2 Seconds and the Game crashes, no matter what Command you enter. In the English Version, that doesn't occur, so whoever wants to play without Problems should switch the Language. But there are also Ways to get ahead in German: Either you dare to convert the Scores Into English and play this Space in English (there's a Contribution to it here on Steam) or you're just faster than the Emulator Window. So with esc skip the Dialogues, press upside down and leave the Room again until you have the right Wig. If you have good Timing, you should do it without any problems. The Rest of the Game also runs flawlessly in German. I just think it's a shame that this Problem has still not been fixed after all the years this Game has been on Steam. All in all, I still have to say it was one of the best Birthday presents I've ever gotten. Whether retro fan, Spy Fox connoisseur of old or just looking for a good Point And Click game, Spy Fox 3: Operation Ozone is definitely worth it. :D
