STAR WARS Episode I Racer reviews and comments

What can you say ... A game from a better time where it was more about Gameplay and less about Graphics .. (It was okay at that time more or less, but we hide it.) Star Wars Episode 1 Racer was one of my first N64 Games and I searched for and loved it! The Steam Re-Release has Problems with here and there as described in other Reviews: First Setup: (The first start of the Game should be done with the Setup Tool after it has been downloaded.) (I should also go into the control System and see if DIrectPlay is on.) Texture Bugs: (I'm just zooming It on my Notebook with dual GPU right now so I can't tell if it's common, I see small Overlap of floor Graphics on the Pod Racer.) But these were the only Bugs I had to date, clearly the game is old and a Port .. But it is a successful Port it has everything that has the Original and maybe something more in the petto. Because I couldn't and haven't been able to try Multiplayer yet, but I'm sure it could be like in Split-screen back then. Everything in one I am so far satisfied with this Port of one of my Favorite N64 Games and rate it perfectly: * Story: 5/10-The Story is simply explained (at least I think so) Man is Pod Racer and tries to be the best * * Gameplay: 9/10-Supple as Butter (okay must I still get used to the Xbox Controller in this Game * * FuN: 10/10-The Game is just as fun as it was then (okay it has also aged but well)

All in all, a Game that is worth it. But more out of Nostalgia than from pure Gaming experience ... It is one of the few Games, but it brings about a Gaming Experience of old today and was not only good at that time. But let's go to raw Facts: Cons.:-too short, was through in 4 Hours with all the Laps and everything unlocked-too expensive for 4 hours of play, buys it in the Sale-as soon as You finished 1st You can no Longer get money for the Track, so you can not upgrade yourself with bad luck s buy-partly bad Collision Query Pros.:-it's Star Wars and so it feels (original Music)-control simple and effective, even with Keyboard Wonderfully controllable-the Speed is exactly as it should be, fast, very fast (mMn a very fast (mMn a very fast (mMn a very fast (mMn a very fast Important Point in racing Games)-cofigured for today's PCs, no Bugs or Crashes Neutral:-Nostalgia is not shattered-graphics still hold up quite well for Age, especially the Podracer and its Animations-Track Variation moderate, gives 6 different Planets with Route branches-many Routes have different Paths and Branches-restrict visibility, but makes fast Driving risky but satisfying when successfully completing everything in all you realize that it is old and has its Quirks, but I Would recommend it to any Star Wars Fan. However, you should buy it in the Sale, as the Full Price for the few Hours of Fun is a rather bad Deal. PS.: I never played it in Multiplayer, but I'm supposed to be good from what I heard. With that, of course, you can get more Hours out of it.
