Steam and Metal reviews and comments

As an Indie Developer of Silent Dreams (Dead Age, Grotesque Tactics and Holy Avatar), I like to play other Indie games myself, but my Opinion is neutral. Steam and Metal currently has few Reviews, but I would call it a good shoot Em Up and is a nice Insider tip. I grew up with the Amiga (Xenon, R-Type, Battle Squadron, X-Out) and so I have a certain Fondness for Shoot Em Ups that are not in The Bullett Hell Style. I can do less with that, is too extreme for me when the whole Screen is fully clenched with Balls. Steam and Metal should be played with Keyboard. Is easy to use. Won Coins make the Weapons stronger and so you fight your way through several Worlds. The Anime Steam Punk Style has succeeded well, the Graphic Artist definitely has a lot of Talent. The Graphics might look better with more Self-shadow and Lighting Effects, but have become good for an Indie title. The Opponents and the Opponent Behavior Are quite original that gives Pluses. There are also inner-assent Effects such as passing Trains, Gears Traps and even the Boss Opponents have good Ideas. In the End you even see the Leader board of The Steamuser and you can see what Rank you have occupied, not every Title has made so beautiful, clever idea! In any case, a nice Pastime and also inexpensive for 5 Euros. For me, as the only major Criticism, that additional Features such as Retailers have been dispensed with, for example. With the old Arcade Vending Machines Shootem Ups, Steam and Metal can keep up and, thanks to some nice Ideas, even trump some of them.

As in the most classic of the scrolling shooter (vertical in this case), in Steam And Metal we will tackle rambles of enemies of different types, from simple planes to airships, to more complex mechanical snakes. The setting in fact is that of a steampunk world in which, after a fierce battle, the Queen fat (the translation would be precisely this being the game entirely in English) has risen to power and is opposed by some groups of rebels, even Terrorists, who will lead to the death of our beloved daddy to seize the projects of the Supermegamacchina steam able to liberate the world from all problems. Vabè, nonsense aside, the intent to insert a narrative thread is purely a pretext to unite the individual paintings in which we will dispense death from the sky, and to cheer the player with some sympathetic dialogue and excellent drawings in crates manga. There is just a few twists, but in short, we are not going to evaluate an element so much external to the real core game; But it is nice to note the interest in putting something that is often ignored. What interests us, however, are the mechanics and, as a good honest game as I said at the beginning, Steam And Metal does not go far from what you might expect. To my great surprise and pleasure, it is certainly a product distant from the feeble challenge of the Blue Flamingo, in which the rhythm of the game was almost turtle, with the need to repeat the same level continuously. No, Steam And Metal is quite the opposite, offering both six levels one different from the other, with clever solutions in which we will have to be careful of the scenario (as it happened with the stupendous Sine Mora), both a remarkable variety of enemies to face (amount that Clearly it depends on the few levels available) which will be divided into elements of aerial and terrestrial offence. At the conclusion of everything, we will also have bosses to defeat, in style with the pearls of the genre. To be honest, Steam And Metal was definitely the game that most reminded me with pleasure Jamestown, still the independent shmup that more is imposed on particularity and uniqueness on the market. Of Course, some malicious eye could also find us a source of inspiration for the points in common, but given the short experience, and the level of difficulty quite lower, the title of AvrDragon proves entirely self-sufficient.
