It reminds Me a lot of the ATHLETICs 2000 PC of the glorious Dinamic, and that was reedited by FX something later.
Disciplines are varied, although they are light years to generate a sense of real competition, and although there are some comments in Castilian, I miss mythical phrases like that of "this will be his last attempt and his last chance" of the aforementioned game, which with A few years less would put you up to a little tense.
As for gameplay, the career mode has no manager options for planning, etc. It Is Limited to improving the skills of the athlete, with the freedom to design the curve of improvement. The difficulties are achieved, although in the end always depends a bit of the accuracy in the moments of pressing (I would have liked a management option with the mouse).
As for graphics and sound, it does not stand out especially for them, but it is not what is demanded. I Would Prefer something more environment, activity on the slopes, sounds within the group of athletes, etc., which is where this game falters a little.
In General terms I liked, and hence this is my first review since I have Steam:-O.
Too Bad The only accomplishments are internal and not Steam.
Note: 5.5 Feeling: 7

I wanted something different from the usual and I decided to take this Summer Athletics (along with other) during the summer sale 2018. I asked for a refund after about 20 minutes of play, I think it is enough to explain my opinion on the game. To want to be a good at all costs I could justify part of its flaws as natural points of aging due to age, but I am well aware that in 2008 there were already in circulation games of much more carat.
Let's talk fast about graphics? I Did not expect a graphics to scream, to be honest, and to prepare were enough the screenshots presented by the Showcase Steam: I was rather realistic on models and general yield, perhaps a little ' less on (absent) effects. I Could instead be generous in defining the textures more than acceptable. But unfortunately to master on the little positive that I saw, in the graphic sector, is the "heaviness" with which everything is turned around. Every movement seems very fluid and everything assumes an unpleasant mock sensation.
And If the graphics could still merit a vote of 5 tenths, surely you can not go beyond 2 for the interface: unnecessarily invasive and cumbersome, stupidly tiring to read.
Isn't that enough to convince you? So Let's talk fast about the gameplay, in which I think they are not all shadows but almost. I Was fully aware, buying, that everything would be solved in a press certain keys, unmatched school "Track & Field", I appreciated the system of keypresses in sequence with the right timing, similar to that of the dance in GTA or Guitar Hero. I Did not mind even having to adjust their cadence to be really effective, yet there is always something that does not come back... And this sensation accompanies you throughout the game.
In Short, after trying high jump, swimming and archery I have a little ' surrendered to the fact that the game is not as I expected. Too bad.
