The Goal is to stay alive.

He shoots, he stand
He walks through a dangerous land

With his soul intact;
Ready to take the last impact

No mercy and no sorrow,
Have those without tomorrow

Still one last hope,
Outside the ghosts' scope

To make due to his will
And with unique skill

He fights back the unknown
Until it comes down the throne

Only then, to be shown
That his courage will
To forever be known.

It describes the lore and the progress of the game. Makes more sense after you finish the game, I guess.
