Let your creativity run wild and bake cakes to bring back joy into villages !

You are a young pastry chef who just got out of pastry university. Driven by your need of discovering the world, and your passion of baking, you decide to travel to share the joy of baking into villages.
But the world is not as bright and joyful as you would like it to be and during your journey, you discover villages in which inhabitants are a little sad, and missing a little something, and you decide to give them a little help, thanks to the power of baking!

Sweet Bakery is based on two different major phases.

First, you peacefully walk in the village, discover the environment and talk to the villagers to know more about them. after some talking, one of the inhabitants tells you that they feel sad and would not mind eating a cake. Baking is YOUR speciality, and you master it. So you decide to bake for them.

You call your cooking kart, and start baking by hitting the workbench with your fist, to send the ingredients in the air. Then, you choose the one that you want to bake.  Isn’t your customer making a weird face when you are selecting an ingredient? Yes… He must not like it. Let’s push it away and select only the ones that make him smile! It looks like you have gathered all your ingredients and they are falling down on your table. Quick! Catch them by moving your bowl to avoid them to blow on the table! It would be too bad to lose them.

Ding! Your cake is done! No you can breathe and take your time to decorate your cake as you want, by letting your creativity running wild. Be careful, the customer is trying to catch one of your decoration items on the table! He looks pretty impatient to taste this wonderful cake. Now that you are done, simply give it to him and look at his crazy tasting reaction.

You did a good job, the villager loved your cake! And as you can see, joy is slowly coming back to the village: flowers are growing, music is more powerful and colors are brighter. And this is all thanks to you, and the power of your sweet pastries!

Sweet Bakery was made in almost 6 months, by a team of eight students (master 1 - 4th year)  from the Institute of Internet and Multimedia, in partnership with the school Audio Workshop for the sound design. We called our studio: Take Away studio.

The instructions were to produce a vertical slice for a project, corresponding to the "pre-production" phase of the project. That is, among others, why the shop is included in the game but not functionnal (we designed it but you cannot buy things from it!).

During this exercise, we also thought of features for a final game:

• Share your character and cakes on social media (the share button is on the game but cannot be used)
• Customize your character (the customization is not integrated, but would include name, pronoun and appearance)
• Travel through unique villages (multiple villages)
