if you have any left, give me a chance
to grow within the place we overlap
and make it whole, if you will let me learn
I'll bear the weight of keeping you from harm,
so let me feel the depths of love again,
a new and knowing look from an old friend
across a crowded room, for me alone,
and all I have to do is take you home
