Team 27 - One Punch Worms

As part of the 2022 IIM Godfather & Godmother Game Jam, our team developed One Punch Worms within 4 days.
Our constraints were:
- Theme: Retro
- Guideline given to our team: Worm
- Device: Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Nintendo), aka SNES
- 256x224 pixels
- 32 768 colors (15bit)
- 128 hardware sprites (32x32 pixels, 64x64 pixels maximum)
- 16x16 pixels tiles
- 8-channel ADPCM audio
One Punch Worms is an arcade video game where two players embody fishing baits. As worms, the contestants will have the opportunity to fight against one another by hitting as many fishes as possible, and to be the first one reaching the abyss.
- Enemies: Fishes are enemies. 3 equidistant spawnpoints are placed at the bottom of the screen to generate fishes, which one is ruled by timer. There are 4 types of fishes: Y -> green, X -> blue, B -> yellow, A -> red.
- The two players can attack enemies by pressing the button matching the fishes (i.e. red fishes are marked with an "A" letter, which means players will have to press the "A" button on the SNES controller to fight them).
- If players are to get swallowed by enemies, they can attack fishes pressing the right button.
