nb. maddeningly, the only bug is a graphics glitch that sometimes draws extra 32x32 pixel blocks in a level [shown below] - they don't actually exist, though, so you can pass right through them. 

Not sure what's causing this, as I clear the surface every room end, and it only started happening as I put the finishing touches to the game (something might be conflicting with the surface object, but I can't for the life of me figure out what).
