I loved the Game on the Jaguar. It was actually the only really good Game on the Console and it's still the best Arcade game ever for me. Jeff Minter did everything right. Big Name, big game. Anyone who has experienced the Pull, can suck into the Tempest will be able to inspire the Game even in Years. Tempest is not Retro, it's Timeless! Superzapper Recharge ... YES YES YES YES!!!!

I loved Tempest 2000 (then still in DOS), and wanted to love this Game as well. It combines more modern Graphics with actually well-known Songs and Sounds. Currently, unfortunately, I have to say that the Game is NOT recommended. This stems from several Deficiencies where I seriously wonder how they could "slip through": 1. It is NOT possible to finish the Game. why? Because there is "Press LB"-yes, but I only have the Keyboard! All other Buttons are displayed correctly. ESC, Alt + Q, Alt+F4-all don't go! The task manager then helped finish ... 2. The Game runs as if in Slow Motion! I know it much faster. The Problem is probably the built-in Graphics of my Notebook. I read that the Game-for unfathomable Reasons-always starts from a fixed 60 fps! Doof only if that's not the Case. So If something attaches to old Traditions here, it's apparently the fact that age-old DOS games ran considerably too fast due to poor Programming. Here it is just the other way around-with the Speed, not with the Programming. Typically, you should program against a Reference Time that is not influenced by built-in Hardware. 3. It is almost impossible to position the Pod (or whatever the Figure is called) on a Field. This is because it is far too Slow to ENTschleunigt When Releasing the Keys. It is virtually impossible to place the Pod as precisely as in the DOS predecessor. Actually, one can only float over a certain Field by constantly left-right. By The way, both problems could be settled: Could you at least see the Shortcuts, ideally change them (both go with an Editor), as any Game can, Quitting would not be a Problem. If the User were also allowed to change the Graphics Properties, one could at least get to the 60 fps-which does not solve the fundamentally problematic programming, but creates a Workaround. I keep the Game because I hope that these Problems will be addressed by Update as soon as possible. Otherwise, from the demo scene, there is a Tempest clone that seems similarly spectacular, can also be lined with original songs, and yes, the Fixing of the Keys allows. It is also only 64 or 96 Kbytes small. Typhoon 2001 is his name.
