The Bluecoats: North vs South reviews and comments

Based on the old North & South, the Game Mechanics and also the Look are similar, but the Mini-games did not really dismiss the old Charm. In the Battles you no longer have to press the Bar for the Removal of the Cannon and also the original Choice between I now control my Cavalry and define all on one Level or yet the Cannon or even better the Infantry is eliminated, since you only have to Point and click sets the Target and the Rest do the Troops alone. A bit more Heartbreak, a good Soundtrack and a little more playful Entitlement and it would have become the wonderful Pastime of old again. Unfortunately, however, somehow "Tablet-ized" and oversimplified.

I was very happy to be able to play this old Classic again. After all, the last Time I picked this Game at that time was certainly 20 years ago. So of course it was installed diligently and shortly afterwards I was very disappointed. The Game has been 25 Years old and still better than this Reboot. The Mini-games were totally dirty. In this Reboot there are only 2 Variants: The Train raid, in which you have to shoot down Enemies and avoid stones and Branches, as well as the Forest topor, which is reminiscent of bog chicken With Cover function. In the past you had a really Fun to make these Games, you ran through the Fort as a small Bluecoat and had to arrive at the End of the Level before the Clock without being killed by the Conveyors. As built in a good Arcade game, it was always Fun. The new one is a Joke. On the normal World Map, they have at least remained true to the Original. The Soldiers now have an ugly 3D Look, but this is probably also more a question of Taste. But Alternative maps would also have been interesting Here, in which the Train Stations vary a bit. At least that would have been ghabt a Replay Factor. The Fight is different again than in the Original. There they usually steered one of the Troops and the Rest took over the AI. Now you just use the Mouse and click all your Armies around. Even the Firing Range of the Artillery is no longer determined by the Hold, but you just click on the Enemy and they shoot exactly as far as it is necessary. Of course, there is also a 2 Player mode. Unfortunately, however, it is not really worth mentioning either, because this one, Too, is Table-oriented. There are not even proper Battles on the same PC. These are then always simply simulated-not even on the Battle map, but simply as Numbers. I advise you seriously heart to buy. You will not be able to do the Game for more than 2 hours. Emulate the old North vs South, you'll have more Fun.
