The Dream Machine: Chapter 1 & 2 reviews

Set Stone, pick up Lighter, pick up Wood, combine wood with Fire, combine Lighter with fire ... Just as demanding and witty is the way to continue:D. I almost fell asleep. I prefer to play "Monkey Island" Or "Day of the Tentacle" for the 10th Time.

In the Humble a lot of time ago and nu found the Key again. As a big Fan of Stopmotion Films in abstract Design á la Coraline, the Look immediately grabbed me. It is in English throughout, but so far in a fairly simple Style, so it should be easy to understand even for less Knowledgeable people. The Atmosphere is magical to gloomy, so not for a Summer mood, but rather something rainy Autumn days. I am very happy that in the ever colder Temperatures I can now dive into this World with a warm Cup of Cocoa And sink into the Soundtrack, because that's exactly what this Game is for! After half An hour in the Game, I immediately Felt like someone in a large Home Library would tell me a Story from the Chair in front of the Fireplace.

Ponit & Click differently! The Knee Figures are well animated and the World looks very stylish. The Tasks are not always the same and can also be activated in non-linear order. As an Example (Spoiler!) First the Angles into the Water and then catch a Worm, then hang it on the Hook of the Fishing in Water (/Spoiler) The English voiceover is just TTS (TextToSpeech), here I have not yet found a Setting this on other Voices or Engine To change, if any. All in all, a good Pastime for by the way. However, the Way to sell chapter By Chapter makes the Game more expensive than a Complete Offer in my View. The Depth of History is developing, so I hope to spend even more Hours playing it.

I have now played "The dream machine" for just under 2 Hours and therefore feel able to write a Review. First of all, I, too, am one of the few Reviewers who actually doesn't like point-and-click's. But all the more story-heavy Games with a special Atmosphere. This and the special Style and the Process of creation (handmade etc.) then led me to Buy and I have to say I was even more positively surprised than I had suspected. The Pictures, Presentation are something very special. No Way a Game for everyone. Those who prefer to gamble on the side to react, etc., will not be satisfied with this. When you get into it and play the Game the way it wants to be played-with Leisure and Time, then it's very fascinating and gripping. The great Soundtrack also plays a big Role here.
