The Dreamatorium of Dr. Magnus 2 reviews and comments

Here is the 2nd episode of a series where the first shutter is not available, which is damaging because it makes direct reference to the first. So yes, we easily understand the synopsis of the first because it must be said that the scenario does not fly very high not to mention that with barely 2:30 to go around the adventure there is not much time to place a story... So do not expect to moult twists, not side scenario is fairly flat and fairly agreed (all along and the end...:( Same thing about SOC and puzzles (very simple, very basic and very easy). Classicism is also a bet in characters and graphics. To tell the truth, the Dreamatorium of Dr Magnus 2 is not there to revolutionize the genre, it is clean on it (no bugs, no big problems, an aesthetic without great originality) but it lacks serious personality. It is worth noting that there is a dubbing but there is no animations of the faces and the tone of the voice of our character is too funny... It has a reading (reading is well the word) without intonations (or if sometimes but not where it should have been)... The second degree is the burst. Not recommending it would be tantamount to saying that it is not a good game when this is not the case... It's just that it's not a "big" game. Calibrated to make the minimum Union, it does it well... Sold at its normal price, it is clearly not worth it but if you see it at low price in second choice you can let yourself be tempted.

The story takes place in 1925 and we embody IRIS Birdwood, a detective specializing in the supernatural. We witness the abduction in the street of a young woman by a paranormal entity who wants to get hold of the Dreamatorium, an invention of Dr. Magnus that allows us to enter the world of dreams. It does not take more to interest us this case and it falls well since we are precisely in front of the home of the inventor and as the world is small, his employer, Mr. King, is the father of Lara, the young woman kidnapped. Here we have a very classic hidden object game with its log book (containing notes and objectives), the city map, the search for objects, the usual mini-games, a minimalist animation of the scenes and a whole system of help and of indices (deactivable). The game is subtitled in French and the voices in English with an abominable dubbing including heroin by an apathetic person visibly little concerned with his job that recite his text in a single-string voice. The character of Dr. Magnus is puzzled by the fact that he seems unconcerned about the events that concern him yet directly enough and spends his time resting while we are activating, especially from the first contact with him to prepare a Cup of tea. Amazing. The puzzles are fast-chained and the story discovers its epilogue without having experienced twists and this is the game finished in less than 2H (I did not bother to collect all the secrets so add maybe ten minutes to reach the 100%). A game too short, too easy, without a real captivating scenario, without originality. May be taken during sales from-80%. And again...
