Originally posted by Luke: "I understand it now, it was not for her missgivings as mother, it's for all the what if's, could have's and should have it's. Things that never be because it's far too late "The Letter is a recent Visual Novel of The brand horror, Mystery and Drama. As in other Games of this Nature, it is Up to the Player to empathise with history, to participate in it as a passive observer, mostly At least. Because there are some Quick Time Events and many, really many Decisions to make, which of course the Player takes over and which God does not know simply and can end with the Death of a beloved Character ...
Plot The Plot revolves around the strange Happenings surrounding the Ermengard mansion in the fictional Town Of Luxebourne. Since time Immemorial they have been Strangling Strange rumours about the Estate and its last Inhabitants, a lord And Lady who died centuries ago. Sounds clichéd? But it definitely isn't. The young, ambitious Isabella Santos, on Behalf of her Real Estate firm and with the Help of her Colleague Rose Cooper, is now in the process of selling this villa, which has been abandoned for so many Years, to new Owners. However, during a Tour She finds a strange Letter that will drastically change her Life and that the People around her.
Characters The Story is told in seven Chapters and always revolves around the Days between October 17 and November 1. In each Chapter one slips into the Role of another unique Figure, all of whom are connected to each other through one way or another. Whether superstitious Estate Agent Isabella, posh Mathematician Hannah, good-natured Photographer Zachary, ambitious Architect Marianne, tough teacher Rebecca, rational Detective Ashton or eccentric Entrepreneur Luke, you learn her All, without exception, know and love them in great detail. The Supporting Characters were also, in my Opinion, very well worked out and sympathetic.
Atmosphere The Drawing style is very pretty, and the Movements liquid and beautiful to look at. A very special Feast For the eyes are of course the larger scenes, which can come up with a very nice partly static, but also sometimes animated Picture. The Music also adds a lot to the Mood. I particularly liked the sung parts. The Speakers have been extremely talented and professional. I have to say that I am always a bit Sceptical About ENGLISH speakers and therefore have played other Visual novels such as CLANNAD or Amnesia in Japanese, simply because I liked the Synchro much better there. Not here, however, the English Dubbing really does not need to hide.
Now a few more Words about the Achievements. There are an awful lot of different Endings here, which sets the Replay Value very high without. I am generally more of a Person who quickly loses interest in a Game, but I don't want to stop here until I have really revealed every Secret, and there is massive of it. There Are 172 Achievements in total and I now lack three, which are so incredibly difficult to obtain, because of the simply gigantic Number of Possibilities.
All in all, it's a very successful VN, and I'm already looking forward to seeing more of the Developers!!
