The Room 4: Old Sins reviews and comments

The puzzles felt a bit easier than in the previous games in the series. Still, it's hard to stop playing when you just want to go and solve the next puzzle, then the next one and the next one...

Like many, I've been waiting a long time for a new Episode of The Room. Thick Pluses for the fair Price, the excellent Graphics and functionality, the Attention to detail, the fat Animations and Camera Moves, the Possibilities to navigate/look around in Virtual Reality. Five Stars are the Least for this great Performance. Minus points, in my personal sense, are the continuous Depri sound of drumming Rain, that despite the same Setting, the final Chapter does not want to fit the Style and playful Enthusiasm of the first Chapters, and also the reading of the Double Pages in the scattered books was no Pleasure for me. The Lyrics almost explain like an Apology why we're here and why we have to get through here ... Well, maybe I'm not that type for complicated Relationship Boxes either. Thanks for the five wonderful and fascinating Hours with The Room: Old Sins.

The Room Series is an extraordinary room-escape game packed with the Story and the Puzzles, which is second to none. The new Part also plays into my Heart in a graphically ideological and narrative way. One thing, however, does not succeed: To provide the necessary Variety. One plays relatively easily through the Planes, the Puzzles fall well short of those of the Predecessors. The Idea of switching back and forth through the Rooms is nice at first, but becomes tiresome in the Long run. Here fireproof could have Calmly put one-two Raps on it. So the Game is then played through quite quickly and it remains to be hoped whether the exciting Cliffhanger will be expected that another sequel, hopefully not to be seen in the distant Future, will be expected, which will be a little more Demanding of the Puzzles and the Abilities of the Cliffhanger. EndDevices (Control by Tilting). Verdict: A definitely worthwhile further Part. The Money can be invested without hesitation. The Puzzles are beautiful, but not very challenging, which can catch the Story.

I think I took a quick Look at the AppStore article about the Game before I played The Room: Old Sins, which was always one of the main Goals of the Developers to meet the Fans of this fantastic game again. And I have to say, I was completely convinced again. This new Episode more than lives up to all Fans, new and old. More than that, even as an old Fan, I was amazed once again how great Fireproof Games brought this new Narrative across. A Madness kind of Atmospheric building, a good Story line, and more than that: A really great Insight into Characters, People, Scenes you really see them interacting in. Not too much, but not too little! This was something That had perhaps come a little too scarce in the previous The Rooms. And for this reason, too, it was so great to look at that even in this Area the Willingness there is to make more! In Conclusion: This game was (and is) worth its Money all Times. Another Masterpiece On the Shelf of the Fireproof Games Team.
