The Room reviews

Interesting puzzles, with some minor control problems. The only real downside I can think of, is that the small amount of story there is, ends kind of abruptly.
A Rubik's Cube of strange puzzle elements put together in an entertaining package.

Behind The Room lies a gritty and atmospheric Point & Click puzzle game That comes about as mysteriously as the Title might suggest. After the Start of The game, you will find yourself in a Room together with a strange Apparatus. A few Notes lead you to explore the Mystery of the Apparatus and its Inventor, and to penetrate further and further into the Depths of the mysterious Mechanism. In Order to do this, numerous Puzzles have to be solved. Many Things can be moved or pressed on the Apparatus, some Items can be stored in the Inventory to be used elsewhere later. The Puzzles, all lovingly made, are fundamentally different and can probably best be described as Logic Puzzles with Numbers, Symbols and Objects. The beautiful, coherent 3D look, where you can rotate or zoom the Image in all Directions at any time, ensures a fluid Gameplay. After a While you might even get the Feeling of standing in front of the Apparatus yourself and the Sense Of achievement will have solved a Mystery more intense. The pleasant Sound Accompaniment of "The Room" is dark and atmospheric, but never interferes with Concentration. The Puzzles are almost all tricky, but not insoluble. I think the Game should be possible for each Player in under 10 Hours, with a Playing Time of 2-5 Hours arguably more realistic. You will really have to think about many Puzzles before you find the Solution. If you don't get any further, you can always use the Help to provide you with Clues as To what to do next. Verdict: At The Room, value for money is right. For currently around 5 Euros, you can expect a few Hours of Fun with tricky puzzles and a beautiful, gloomy atmosphere. The relatively flat Story goes down a bit in the Game, in my Opinion, but the great Puzzle fun loosely compensates for it. The Room is a great Game to look for some distraction on your PC on dark Autumn Evenings with smuggled weather over a hot Cup of Tea. Definitely a Buy recommendation and a Thumbs up! > > Further Reviews on the Steam Curator offer of Indiegames Inside

Purchased this when it came out over 6 years ago. Plays it regularly and always with the same excitement. Love that it is so mechanical and tactile that I can feel the smell of brass and steel, oil and precious wood. This is a real mechanical model that can be made virtual. Also, everyone else in the series, every single one can be played infinitely many times without losing the fascination. As a piece of classical music it never gets old.

the first time I play with a "puzzle" game. To start I chose this after reading the various reviews. The most amazing thing is the creativity of the programmers as well as the beautiful graphics. a game made "with the heart"! The difficulty is well calibrated. Surely you will find the next two chapters. An excellent marketing operation is to put the first chapter for free. When you have a good product you can do it: practically a 3x2.

The levels were easy, until very complicated. You do not come to everything immediately. From time to time I also had to try to help. The music and effects were great. Everything moved mechanically and worked very well. It has made me a couple of times a Gnsehaut and surprised me amazed. So much ingenuity in such a small space. A few weeks are over now. As a casual player you play here and there a bit. I am looking forward to the second part.

The Room is not really a game in between, you have to concentrate scary. It is really difficult. Everything is solvable and I'm really proud to breathe: "done!" If you've just solved a riddle, you're completely helpless again, as it should now go on again. But there are also helpful tips if you can not get any further. Puuuh, I have to get my head de-knotted for the first time before I can go for The Room 2 and 3.

I just bought the game, and I already finished after 2 hours of puzzles. It is seeing a pre-order available from the 4th Room that I wanted to buy the 1, for if it's my flat, continue the series, and I'll do it right away! As said before, lasts about 2 hours, a little short, but the game is excellent, I hope that even the 2 will be a little longer, with new original riddles, I'm a little afraid of the magazine and so that the next ones are easy to finish. In any case the 1 deserves 5 stars.
Fun puzzle with very nice visuals. All puzzles are unique, but as a trade off game is quite short.
