The Sailor’s Dream reviews

I defy anyone, among the game designers, to do what Simogo does. Between year walk, device 6 and the sailor's dream, we only have the embarrassment of choosing to play really surprising games, which change the ordinary, and very clever. This is just an adventure without much interactivity, but it is very powerful! A game where there is nothing to do, if not to dream...

You can Not value a game if you have never tried to create one, does not say an expert on the subject, but, I think without a doubt has a great programming in the rear, which is to be valued. In Addition This game is one that you can only understand if you have a very special taste for games. You can Not go there and criticize anyone and much less if you do not know the work behind I give 5 stars.

Fine poetic visuals but the storyline is missing something. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just miss an actual game part, and a bit more coherence and complexity if it is ‘only’ to be a visual story. Sometimes ‘minimal’ is just that minimal. I think it’s too expensive for what it is..... and what ends up making me sad / disappointed, is a feeling of being cheated out of the great story I was promised ( read: hoping for ) ..... ( I’m comparing to the storytelling in Year Walk of course, so my expectations were high ).

From the developers of Year Walk and Device6 I expected a more intriguing title of what this game offered me. The aim of the game, also this time, is to discover its history through small interactions with the various scenarios with a melancholy and mysterious atmosphere. As the experience progresses, you will discover songs that will reveal a piece of history through melodies and rhymes like the songs of a distant past. The Exploratory experience in this title is a bit ' too detached, in my opinion: when I scroll in the main scenario, I can only go left or right, then stop in an island where there is the goal to get to unlock other islands. I thought it was too artificial and restrictive. Being a fairy tale set in the open sea, these limitations really create a marked contradiction. It Lacks the immersiveness or illusion of freedom that has characterised the two previous masterpieces. All in all, it is a pleasant title to explore and less demanding than its predecessors. If you already know the latter and you loved them, then I suggest you also try this new creation, but if you have never played a title of these developers, stop and buy Year Walk.
