They'll Come from the Moon! [Early Access]

They'll Come from the Moon! a Spooky Rhythm Short is currently in Early Access, released JUST IN TIME for the tail end of Halloween 2021.

This rhythm game begins with Act 1, a spooky narration about how a boy and his town heed a mysterious warning about the moon.

But there may be more to the story, as we learn in Act 2.  Play call-and-response rhythm gameplay (like Space Channel 5 or Parappa the Rapper) to guide new heroes against a surprise threat.

This game is a Rhythm Short -- so it's small, shorter than your average game.  Think of it like an animated short.  But it's priced appropriately and has some great original music and voice acting.  If you're a rhythm game fan, I bet you'll enjoy it!

Early Access:

I started writing the script for this game on October 14, 2021 — only 17 days ago!

In the 2-ish week scramble of part-time, after-hours work that followed, some friends and I put together an awesome musical adventure.  And now it's here, just time for the initial Early Access release on Halloween 2021.

Even though we're proud to release what's done, more work is still to come.  Here's more to look forward to as development continues:

• Tap-along rhythm gameplay in Act 1 (right now that scene is listen-only)
• Additional difficulty levels
• Randomized pattern play mode
• Accessibility support
• Keyboard/controller-driven menus
• Art improvements & additions — even character art!

Controls:

Please note that the menus are mostly mouse-controlled at the moment.

Gameplay can be controlled either by the mouse or via customizable keyboard/gamepad controls.  This game starts with a Unity launcher that allows you to customize your resolution and controls.
