Three Dead Zed reviews

Well then, I finished 3DZ, so what to say about this game? Since I am an aficionados of platform games of all kinds (from Mario to Sonic, through SMB) I have been tempted by this game that seemed to me original. A good surprise at the end of the day. The positives:-> a quirky universe: you embody project Zed, a kind of zombie, the result of an experience that "blah blah blah" it doesn't matter anyway, but the character (and its transformations, described below) are nice to look at, and fun from a point animations view. The decorations, the story, the characters are all taken on the tone of the mockery, which really helps to release the pressure, and it often happened to me to burst with laughter in front of the cries of despair of an old lady trying to flee my dead zombie, while I was trying to reach a platform for 10 minutes. -A "3 speed" gameplay: indeed, your zombie has a ability to change shape. The first, the basic one, allows you to run at medium speed, to attack, to jump moderately high and to operate the switches. The second, which I would call the acrobatic form, allows to move at high speed to jump very high as well as to cling to the walls, but without being able to attack or interact with the objects. It should be noted that this form increases the damage suffered by your personal because, contrario of an SMB for example, one can take several blows before dying. And finally the third and final form, the "combat" form allows you to collect and inflict more damage to the detriment of a (very) reduced mobility. These 3 forms will be indispensable to achieve the end of the game and the ability that the player to alternate between these 3 forms will influence his ability to finish the levels as soon as possible. Overall I do not think the game innovates (I seem to have already seen this somewhere), but it must be recognized that here it works and it works pretty well... Most of the time. -A plateformer "not too difficult": after you can see it as a quality or a defect, it depends on the point of view, but I found 3DZ really less require that an SMB, the levels are pretty short for the most part, and dotted with many checkpoints, which enables constant progress without having to start over from the beginning of the level. Which is no worse for the one who wants to get into this kind of game, but who does not necessarily have a lot of patience. Let's come to the negative points:-> the lifespan! : Indeed I found the game horribly couuuurs, I think I put 2, see 3 hours maximum to loop it and I am not specially a pro of plateformers in General. To developers: If you make a good quality game: integrate more levels, or give players a level editor! Because I think your game has some potential. Well, OK, for the fierce there are "challenges" modes once the game is over but if you are of the same kind as me, once you have saved the Princess in Mario, the hidden pieces, it doesn't matter; Bah of the sudden the game is very (very) short. -The ease of the game: I talked about it, as much as I find the game accessible to the general public, as much as I find it could have had a greater depth. So in most of the levels we have 1 see 2 "secrets" to discover (noted on the end of level sheet) but these secrets are too easy! The entrances are found if not at first glance, after a (small) search in the rooms where we passed... Damage (I would have, for example, enjoyed hidden rooms behind textures, hidden switches,....) -The maneuverability of the acrobatic form: it is (too) often happened to die in blades because of a jump too long, a personal that slips, you can not really calibrate the power of the jump with this shape, unlike many games of the shot is a c OUP to have, after that is part of the constraints of each game, you have to do it;)-> the game is in English: well, in this case not necessarily annoying since it is not an RPG, but to grasp the quirky humor of the game it is always better to understand the monologues. After the base of your English level it may hinder you or not. In conclusion I would recommend this game to the followers and novices of the platform game by its fun universe and its interesting gameplay, now take it rather on promo (it falls well, it is until 29/10) because the lifespan leaves a little to be desired;)
