Thriftlands is a top-down pixel RPG Fan-Game, based on Griftlands, from Klei Entertainment! Play as Sal, a cunning bounty hunter, as she wakes to find her friends taken and belongings stolen - Can you reunite them all without falling victim to what lurks in the Bog yourself?

This small fan game was born from a game jam in February of 2021, by a team of rowdy, passionate fans of Klei Entertainment's newest game, Griftlands (in Early Access at the time). 

The jam lasted 3 days - with some prep work/cleanup performed before and after the jam itself by a few organizers. There were ~20 participants -- of which only about 3-4 of us had any prior game dev or game jam experience. While life events delayed us from sharing it sooner, we had a blast and were thrilled to have made something together despite having very little experience overall! (Also, the idea of making a fan-game before the actual game was technically even released really tickled us).

We held this fan-made jam both for fun, and as a love letter to the devs at Klei for their diligent, passionate work and the journey of bringing the world of Havaria to life. 

Now that Griftlands itself has released fully June 2021, we thought it would be the perfect time to share and celebrate!
