TimeShift reviews

It's a shame how much Potential is given away. The Idea and principle of Time Manipulation is really good and refreshing. However, that is also the only positive one I can mention. Story: At the beginning, a very good looking Cutscene, which seems to be to start in the Story. Unfortunately, in addition, completely without Context and generally somehow without Meaning. For me, the Story is not well told and doesn't pick me up a Piece. You have no Connection to your own Character or anyone else you meet. So far, the Storyline leaves a "warum-tue-it-that-at with me?" Feeling. In addition, the Story reminds me very much of Half-life 2. A little too much I have to say. The City is taken over by Soldiers, all of whom look the same. There are Walker running around. An old Man makes announcements on Screens and via Loudspeakers that one please adhere to the instructions. These are also the first Things you encounter at Half-Life. Gameplay: There are Puzzles and Skill Passages That can only be solved with Time Manipulation. Nice, but these are already repetitive After less than 2 Hours of Play. In a Shooter, gunplay is also very important. A lot has been given away here. For the Distance on which is mostly fought, the Weapons are far too imprecise. The Zoom is also really ridiculous. A Sense Of purpose about Kimme and Grain would have been appropriate here; At least with The Assault rifle. I welcome it when in a Shooter The Opponents do not simply have to be looked at awry in order to fall Death. Here, however, in Combination with the non-existent Precision, it is extremely strenuous Battles with many opponents to Play games. While The Weapons provide good Feedback according to their size and Appearance, they end up appearing weaker than expected. Maybe I'm wrong with my Opinion though, expecting an Opponent who has collected 3-4 Shots from a Shotgun at 2m away not to get back up. Graphic: It's a Game from 2007. You can't expect any Graphic Wonders or great Lighting Effects (preferably in 4k). At the introductory cutscene I was only thrilled how Toll looks for his 9 Years. I'm not even sure if it's a rendered or a Real Movie Scene. In the Game, all that came up with disillusionment. It's ugly. Even for 2007. Again, I would like to cite Half-Life 2 as an Example. The Latter looks better by Lengths, has nicer Textures and better Lighting Effects. Half-Life 2 is even 3 Years older. Verdict: Half-Life with Time Control in bad. I didn't play through it as it couldn't motivate me to keep playing. If I should keep playing it, and my Mind changes, I'll update the Review. From my current Point of view, I can't recommend Timeshift to anyone.
