Admittedly, I haven't arrived at the End of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Normally, you should refrain from writing Reviews of Games you haven't finished. In the Case of this Remake, however, I'll just make an Exception. I remember that I had at least alluded to the ORIGINAL game on PC at the time as a rather unclamped Player, who, unlike the SNES controller, was a Foreign Body and who was completely overwhelmed with the Size of the Levels. The Jump Park tour in the Villa, however, became very familiar to me. The Anniversary version of the Game does a lot of Things right and enhances some archaic Concepts from back then. Jumping and Climbing, for example, is much better off your Hand, although it is far from perfect. The Graphics, even if a little more on the almost comic Side of the early Xbox 360/PS3 Era, appeal to me quite well overall. What I like excellently with Tomb Raider: Anniversary is the Atmosphere and The Game design. Unlike modern action "Adventures" of the Uncharted Brand or the first TR reboot, the Relationship between climbing/Erkunden/puzzles is to solve puzzles and to locate Action approximately at 80-20. On this Point, the Game is really pleasantly classic and offers a welcome Change from the bristling bombast, especially today in 2018. I really like that in this Game you spend so much Time looking around and a Feeling for Places to develop, then come to Solutions to Problems. I miss these Kinds of Games where you just have to open your Eyes and experiment a little bit, instead of always being presented instantly with the obvious Solution. You don't just run out straight all the time-who would have thought it. There is one Thing to complain about, however: The Controls and, in particular, the camera are a Horror. Lara has an incredible Turning Circle and moves quite unsmooth, sometimes even insanely suicidal. The Camera absolutely never knows where to go. When Walls are Nearby, she gets stuck on it, fidgets around and everything is in the Picture except the Character. Then sometimes "cinematic" Camera changes come out of Nowhere, so you joyfully jump into the next Abyss because you're running in the wrong Direction. These problems are constantly confronted at TR: Anniversary. So If you want to experience a beautiful, classic Adventure Game with a super cool Heroine and bring the necessary Patience, you can certainly access it here. The Game is already a bit old baking and obviously does not reach out to the new Tomb Raider games in terms of presentation etc. (The Cutscenes have almost slapstick character according to today's Standard, for example), but offers a pleasant Exploring Through ancient Temples. And Lara Dual-Wielded here still-as befits it-her two Shooting Trips and does flick flacks. What's not to love?
