Torment
About
Torment™ is a simple and addictive picture-puzzle game featuring images, music and information from the forthcoming PC-RPG game Torment: Tides of Numenera™.
Torment: Tides of Numenera™ is set in the Ninth World, the setting of Monte Cook's tabletop role-playing game, Numenera™. The Ninth World is a fantastic vision of a world in which massive civilizations have risen and fallen - disappeared, transcended, overwhelmed, or destroyed - and left their cities, monuments, and artifacts behind. As each rose and fell, their achievements became part of the accumulated detritus of eons... but much of it did not decay. And now this assortment of ancient power is there for the taking, ever-present, underfoot. The humans of the Ninth World take and use what they can. They call these wonders (and horrors) the numenera.
Solve the scrambled image by tapping the tiles to flip through variations of color-tint and orientation to the correct version of the tile. Get all tiles correct to stop the clock and unlock the hi-res image and text info about the image.
Shake your device to re-scramble a solved puzzle to try for a better time. Shake again to return to the hi-res image and see the best time displayed.
Zoom and pan to see the details in the high resolution images. Touch the "Info" button to toggle between the image and its text description.
Those nimble enough to survive the Ninth World can solve each puzzle in less than 20 seconds*. Solve in 15 seconds or less and you are a champion of Torment™!
*Hint: you don’t have to wait for a tile to flip before you tap another tile or tiles.
