Valley reviews

Valley wants to be more than it is. I got into the Game quite unbiased and it made a passable Impression for the first 10 Minutes. Graphics quite good and the Sound pleasant. Short Pre-information: This is the first negative Review I write. And I've been shy about writing them for a long Time, but now you get a full Broadside of my Views! Sorry if this Text gets unnecessarily long (it will). It has Potential that it doesn't exploit and Game Mechanics that I think could have been brought in differently. It could be more, too wants it, but it isn't. In my Opinion, the Story is almost negligible and very Clichéd (more on that later). It is advertised with a living World in which one can manipulate Life and one's own Death can be the Destruction of the Valley. So Far, That's true. The Valley has 10 "Life Leaves." Dies one loses the Branch with the Leaves two Leaves, which can be restored by reviving nature. And here we already have a big Gap: There are dead trees standing around everywhere and the Valley doesn't seem to care. Only when you die and revive this does the supposed "demise of the Valley" Come into Force and it loses Leaves. On the other hand, you can revive 10000 Trees beforehand and yet the Valley will lose 20% Life at your Death. This Mechanic is either poorly thought out or is just supposed to bring in some Kind of Challenge. In my Opinion, it is rather poorly implemented and also not credible towards the World. To manipulate Life at all, you need Orbs that are all over the Map and seemingly spawn (Story later explains why). In other words, you never have a real Energy Problem, and even if you run out of energy, you can deprive Animals and Trees of Life at The expense of the Valley. In this Case, take hold again:-You deprive 10 Trees of Life and the Valley Almost dies, although you have given life to significantly more trees before, you do not Meet with your Energy Orbs the dead trees or Animals these simply disappear into Nirvana. Then the L.E.A.F. Suit's could be so beautiful, but you will only be granted a really interesting Upgrade in certain Situations. You can run faster for an infinite amount of time, jump higher and a lot more. You only accelerate when it goes downhill, or when there's a Ramp in front of you. Or if there's a Ramp on the Hill and you have to run uphill. Meeh. Before each new Challenge, you'll find exactly what you're looking for! Oh the Cliff is too high? Ah here right in front Of the Cliff is the Upgrade you need. There's Water and you can't get on? A Box! With this you can walk over Water for a limited Time! Do this 10 more times, so that the Upgrade is worth it! Good that such Challenges were not there before. In addition, the following is said: You can't get into the Water because the Suit is too heavy. Ok I accept. But if you are granted an Upgrade to run afloat, this is due more to the Speed and not to the Energy the Suit still has (Before there was no time Limit for the Upgrades, only Energy Costs) The Game wants to hold so much and yet Everything just seems like someone has said: Make everything go in and see what happens. Spoiler!! The Story is about the greedy Military that the Lifeseed has worried about pounding Infinite Energy from it in order to promote war. Point. Every 1000 Years, the Lifeseed could tear the entire Earth apart and is the Tool of ultimate Power and Key to World Power. So We are now walking in the Footsteps of the Past and Listening to and Audiologue while we are looking for the Lifeseed. We also hear the Voice of one of the Scientists, who is gradually getting crazier after world Domination. This is not a Story I didn't ever hear. We I had said before: Clichéd. However, the Elements and Key Parts in the Game are quite something to work with. However, I see This Thing more in a Puzzle adventure Or a Jump and run. Special to the Handling of the L.E.A.F. Suits. I could sum up the Game this way: The World is not true to its own Rules and wants everything, but can do little. I am actually far from finished, but I don't want to go any further with my Opinion on your nerve. I hope I was able to get my Opinion across well. PS: I feel a bit of fies here, but just fies.

Five Word Review: It's essentially walking simulator.
Favorite Thing: The LEAF suit can be pretty fun, especially when you're soaring over the treetops.
Least Favorite Thing: The save system is inexcusably bad; it's nearly non-existent. If you quit in the middle of a level you get to start over at the beginning, yay!

Date Completed: 2018-04-17
Playtime: 4h
Enjoyment: 5/10
Recommendation: Ennnhhhhh. It was okay. If there was a maybe button I'd hit it but there are better ways to spend your time.
