Product received for free Wailing Heights-a child of the young North Irish studio Outsider Games, is a very original point-N-click adventure. It Stands out in it literally everything! And Stylistics, and graphics, and script, and game mechanics...
PLOT (no spoilers): The Plot revolves around the once greatest (fictional course) British rock band Deadbeats. On The manners of modern Finnish stars Lordi mowing under monsters. And had an incredible world success somewhere in the late 60s, judging by the entourage. And later disintegrated. The protagonist of the game-the former manager of the group, Francis Finkelstein. A Quiet and unvarying hipochatyj Lad, outwardly waving at John Lennon, gets, so to speak, in a binding. Someone unknown invites him to attend a concert in some wilderness... And later Finkelstein comes to himself in the prison cell of a small town with a gloomy-Gothic name Wailing Heights-"Weeping Hills", whose peculiarity, of course, is not in the name... But in the fact that the city is inhabited exclusively by various kinds of evil spirits, vampires, zombies, werewolves... A kind of an oasis of otherworldly and supernatural. The Poor man was put behind bars for... Attention... Live! That'S it, no more, no less.
Suddenly figuring out that in this strange place his mind can mysteriously move into the bodies of other sentient beings, Finkelstein decides to use it for his own salvation. The Plot continues to spin, to become more interesting... Also discovering new details and unexpected for the main character meeting with old acquaintances! And available to play characters, between which you can switch, ie move your mind, will become more and more. And only a competent combination of their unique features will promote you on story.
CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES: The dialogue System here implies different variants of the answer, as in a normal such quest! In Addition, the game takes into account who and with whom speaks... Give examples: the unarticulate zombie Mutter understand only other zombies, werewolves do not like ghosts, because they do not smell their odor... But ghosts can eaveswash on other people's thoughts... And so on.
Framed this game in the form of comics, as you have noticed. And to create the graphics were brought the masters of the case, wonderful artists, very famous in the field of comics. Such as John Mc Farlane, Glenn Fabry, John McCrea, PJ Holden...
The game has dozens of truly wonderful music compositions of different genres: Rock and roll, blues, pop, indie, soul, country... And The authors call it a musical adventure.))
CONS: The Main, and perhaps the only significant flaw of the game Wailing Heights for Russian-speaking, and also, undoubtedly, Russian-speaking and Russian-speaking player-the absence of Russian localization from the word completely. (Apparently, that's why I did not find a single Russian-language review of the game, not only in the Steam, but in general-and wrote HIS) VERDICT: The Game is really FOR-ME-and leaves a predominantly positive impression. Where else do you find vampire-hipsters, singing zombies, ghost-lawyer, reading rap and cheerful Gang of werewolf-racers?!))) You Should play it half an hour, and it will surely conquer you.
So If your English is GOOD, or you are not embarrassed by the close proximity to the dictionary... If you like quests, music, comics... Mysticism and evil of all, as well as good humor-welcome!
